Where is the Best Tourist Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
My husband and I returned last week and had a great dinner. The food is above average and they have a great wine menu as well as some choice single malt scotch selections. I do love the dark wood interior and linen clad tables. Do not come here if your sole purpose is to eat cheap. This is about dining and dining well. It’s a very civilized atmosphere and we appreciate that. There is easy parking across the street at the ramp near Kincaid’s. If you make it clear to your server that you will not be rushed they will honor that request. In fact, that is something I make clear in all restaurants and it is never a problem. Restaurants want their patrons to communicate their needs. We have also used them for business meetings and executive sessions and they have been more than accommodating. This hotel is perhaps the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed in, and I would consider that to be about the highest praise that I could give a hotel. Also, hotel security is extremely professional and taken very seriously–we noticed a number of things about the security personnel that made us feel more like we were staying in an embassy and less like we were staying at a hotel in the U.S. Inside the hotel, you could forget that you are in Minneapolis Minnesota–and instead come to believe that you are in one of the European capitals. The hotel atmosphere is very international, not domestic/North Central US. Unfortunately, this carries over to the restaurant and room-service prices, where you can get some $14 eggs with a $3 juice for breakfast. We called ahead and requested connecting/adjoining rooms with cribs, so that our family could interact when in the rooms, but upon arrival we were checked into rooms that didn’t connect. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a 5:09 emergency wake up call and had to evacuate to the lobby. We were not made aware of what was going on and we were told we could go back about 5:30 and that was it. We were not compensated for any of this at all.
