Where is the Best Therpeutic Massage in Austin, Texas?
I like to come off as a guy who doesn’t care too much about his hair, but my wife and a few other people on this planet no better. Up until discovering David Tienda at Aziz (South location, on Brodie), I was a wanderer — each month searching for a new stylist whom I didn’t want to pop in the throat for f-ing up my locks. Let me tell you, I got around. David not only listens carefully and does what you tell him to do with your hair, he makes great suggestions based on your hair type, face shape, zodiac sign, social security number, what have you. He’s a wizard with the scissors and a seer with the shears. He’s a great conversationalist, too — able to wax eloquent and exhibit wit without losing focus on the quaff he’s cutting. He’s like a stylist ninja, with personality and humor. Seriously, the dude’s talented, and a good guy. Give him a shot — you won’t be sorry. Pros + Mr. T, no uppity staff, ample parking (huge plaza lot)Cons – nada
As a professional writer on medical issues, I’m skeptical about health claims not only by non-traditional medicine, but hospitals and MDs as well. I want quantifiable results before I believe anything. Merri Isom made no claims when I first became a client of her massage therapy practice. She just dealt with the immediate aches that my accelerated exercise program had caused. However, I found that Merri is much more than a massage therapist. Each session, we talked about my particular health issues and she slowly began offering ideas for dealing with them. Non-massage ideas. Something I had never expected when I first walked in.So, bottom line, here are my results. Not long ago, I suffered my first attack of gout, a painful joint inflammation caused by a build-up of uric acid in the blood. Merry didn’t just suggest I drink more water; she handed me a water bottle every time I arrived. Result: In two weeks, my gout-sensitive feet hurt far less and I was able to discontinue prescripti
This was our first time at She-Etc. From the time we parked to the time we left, it was a great experience. My husband was a little hesitant to get a couple’s massage since his last massage at a different location was not the best. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with very friendly service. We felt very comfortable from the very beginning. For the couple’s massage, they took us to a little cottage in the back of the main house. As soon as you walk in to the cottage, you know you are in for a great experience. The place was very cozy, warming, decorated beautiful, candles lit all over, fireplace, music that you can just close your eyes and go to la la land. It was so nice that my husband even said, “wow.” We had our private restroom and then our one hour couple’s massage began. My husband and I both agree that we had an awesome massage. The ladies were very friendly. After, we had a little snack that included fruit, crackers cheese and our choice of a dr
I started going to Lisa when she was at a salon off Slaughter and Manchaca. She was the first person who could make my naturally wavey hair work for me. She’s also the very first person I trusted to color my hair. She moved to Salon Bali (still in South Austin) and I moved with her. She was so kind as to continue to provide me with the details of her move. I’ve been to see her at Salon Sirrah when I was working up north. Now that I am working and living in South Austin it has become to time and gas consuming to travel all the way up. If I wasn’t in such a financial crunch right now I would continue to travel north to see her. I reccommend anyone to visit Salon Sirrah and ask for Lisa Lehmann!Pros + Expert with color and precision cutsCons – North location is too far for me to drive
I met Monica in 1987 when I had a total hair disaster at the hands of a butcher. She saved my life then and has recently done so again. I followed her all over Austin and Cedar Park and Round Rock until she moved to Maryland in the late 90s. That was too far!! I moved, too, out to the Hill Country and had to settle for what I could find. But I moved back to Austin in 2007 and again found someone close and cheap and never busy. Of course, my hair looked like it! One day I decided to check out another salon down the street online and totally by accident came across Monica’s name. I couldn’t believe it. She was back in Austin and so was I. Now I look like my old self because Monica knows who that is. If you want something young and sassy, Monica can give it to you. But if you’re older like me (64) don’t be afraid to give her a try. She’ll give you just what you want.Pros + A real keeperCons – None
