Everything is in bloom and I was preparing for utter doom. Allergies came early this year & I really didn’t want to succumb to Claritin, again. So, I made an appointment at Zama, with Katelyn Decker L.Ac. Katelyn was wonderful! I explained what my symptoms were (scratchy throat & itchy eyes), she read my pulses & went to town. The tiny tiny needles did not hurt at all. In fact, I felt completely relaxed, with a slight euphoric feeling. She sent me home with a bottle of commonly used (in the natural world) chinese herbs. The acupuncture was practically an instant remedy & the dose of herbs that she prescribed seem to be keeping the sniffles away, Hooray! I can go outside & ENJOY the beautiful cherry blossoms. The Dragontree is such a special place. Just walking in the front door I feel I’m invited to let go of my daily stresses and experience peace and healing. I have had massage from Roxanne, Joy, John, Chrissy and Serena and they are all so gifted and present in the art of massage. When I started working out again I was of course sore and needed a soothing and gentle massage, and they do that so well. I typically however have tension headaches and postural problems which requires deeper massage and more knowledge and skill. I am so impressed with the quality and expertise of the therapists at The Dragontree. Each time I go, where ever I am physically, mentally and emotionally, each therapist has been receptive and attentive and I get exactly what I need. When I just have the time or money for a little bit of nurturing, it is amazing how much I benefit from a head, neck and shoulder massage or foot massage in the Sangha Room. The Sangha Room is a community room with big cushy couch
I saw Jill for the Groupon special, a foot soak, scalp treatment, facial and eyebrow wax. I adored the scalp treatment, I would add that on to anything I do with Jill in the future. The facial was relaxing and thorough. Jill has a calm manner that instantly put me at ease and I loved the tea she has sitting at the front desk. It’s a nice change to have a soothing and calm salon, no receptionist as Jill takes care of her appointments by phone or email, email which is actually preferred. The space is set up as a yoga studio and with the hardwood floors and floor to ceiling windows, it’s a peaceful place.I recommend seeing Jill and if you want to try her out, I have another groupon available! My search for an incredible and perfect hair stylist is finally over!! Heather is absolutely the answer I have been waiting for. You guys, she is an angel sent from heaven!!!! I have been to way too many hair stylists and salons (seriously, it’s embarrassing to share all the places and people I have been to in order to find Heather) only to be disappointed. All my haircuts in the past have either been terrible, mediocre, or just something that I am not wowed by. You know those people you see walking down the street and you want to just stop and ask them where they get their hair done? Well….thanks to the lovely Heather, I am now one of those people! I have NEVER been one those people until I went to Heather! It’s not only that other people notice my fabulous hair, but I feel like a movie star now. After years of ‘nothing-special’ kind of haircuts, I was so ready to feel movie star like! Nothing beats when you feel amazing because of a haircut! Heather listens and spends so much time
I don’t know where to begin. I love this place. Frankly, I can’t really afford it – or any spa – at this time in my life but I make it work about 3x/year (and my husband knows to get me gift certificates there!) because what it does for stress is SO WORTH IT. I always get the 80 minute massage and then sit in the grotto afterward. The price of the massage may be a tad higher than at other places, and I almost put that down as a “con,” but the grotto is included which makes it waaaay worth it for what you get, since I’d pay just to use it! It’s like being transported to another place and time – a very roman baths feel or maybe it’s an ancient tomb feel (nice dim lighting too, which can be adjusted) but whatever it is, it’s amazing. You sit in this very large (small pool-sized) jacuzzi next to a beautiful tiled wall with tea candles and they bring you wine or champagne or tea or a few other options, with appetizers, and the ceiling above slowly changes colors and has stars!
