Where is the Best Thai Food in Seattle, Washington?
We were wowed with the robust flavor of the red curry dishes we were served at Sea Thai last nightThis is the freshest-tasting spicy Thai food Ive had in Seattle. For our appetizer we had a unique crispy fried rice dish in addition to the plate of a dozen little spring rolls. The red curry with pumpkin was almost as good as the BBQ duck in red curry. The most splendid spicy dish was the seafood in a coconut Ho Mok Talay.I enjoyed the sensation produced by the rivulets of sweat running down my temples and behind my ears. I didnt get particularly sniffly from the spices in these dishes though at least one of the others sharing the feast needed to replace a soaked napkin. It was definitely hot spicy food but not one-dimensional the dishes were all richly flavored and nuanced.The restaurant is small and bright so its not a spot for romancing. The staff is pretty much all family and they treat the customers as guests. We were very comfortable for the 90 minutes it took to consume our feast
I went on a Monday night. Luckily for me there was a big party that was over right when I got there so the buffet was still open. For the price of a buffet plate and the price of getting more than one item off the menu for the same price, I opted for the buffet.The buffet had salad, Thai desert, noodles and plenty of sauces to flavor up the meal. I just wish there were freshly ground peanuts, and mint/ basil leaves.I also ordered a Thai iced tea which was made with coconut milk instead of cream. The food is bit generic, but then again my mother is Thai and I was raised in a Thai household. I added some hot pepper which was available and it spiced up perfectly. Some food was a bit too sweet and I veered away. Nothing was overly salty.The waitresses were very kind to me. I spoke to them in Thai and they were very perky and checked in on me a few times. This little back bar to the popular Thaiku is perfect if you want to get out of the crowd with someone interesting to talk with. If you can find the back door the this bar you might impress a friend, and the little red room of the back is a rare Seattle treat. The drinks are not bad, the food is good but the best part of this bar is the small tucked away seating.
If you’re looking for a great thai restaurant, this is the place!!! Sure it’s a little far from Seattle, but it is well worth it. The food and service is excellent!!! Not to mention the price!! It is perfect for that “on a budget” individual. The restaurant is also very clean and very well decorated with original thai art and structures. It’s almost like being in a museum! I would say it would also be a nice place to take a date. After 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, they have karaoke. Try this place, it is awesome!!Pros + Inexpensive, Great food, Excellent service
Like most Thai restaurants, this location has dim lights and a relaxing feel. There is much parking outside, and there is enough seating for several large groups. There is a fairly large menu selection, but the real question is how good is the food? The satay appetizer is always a winner, and I got to choose lamb on my last visit. The sizzling panang duck is definitely worth a try. The crispy garlic chicken is perfect for chicken lovers. The phad thai, however, hasnt been a favorite at this location: it hasnt been anything more than average. I also have not yet been impressed with their skimpy soups. The food is simply a mixture of good and just OK. Consistency is also something that needs to be improved, because my last visit had reheated duck rather than panang duck. The prices are slightly on the higher side for Thai food, so I recommend checking out some of the more unique menu selections rather than the typical (like phad thai).
