Where is the Best Thai Food in Portland, Oregon?

We have been here several times, with and without our kids. The service is top notch and attentive. Every dish was tasty and well-prepared. I have tried many different things from the menu and everything has been delicious. One note however – after many wonderful meals at the Typhoon location on Everett, we decided to try the location in Gresham and it was just awful. Food was still great, but the service was not good at all – mostly run by rude teenagers. We asked about the tea selection and we were told that only the ‘gross’ teas were available because they were all out of ‘good’ tea.Pros + service, kid friendly, good food, good pricesCons – parking is a little challenging!

This is wonderful Thai. I lived in Thailand and while there are some tastes that cannot be replicated without the locally grown foods found there, I have not found a place with tastes so close as I have at Khun Pix’s Bahn Thai. (Citysearch will not allow me to say “p i c ‘ s” without the spaces)It is the perfect place for delicious food, enjoyed. You can sit down, have a conversation, enjoy your food and stay longer just talking. It is wonderful to have a place with such wonderful food and atmosphere where you can take your time without feeling pressured. This is one of the few places where I *truly* enjoy the experience, the pace of the meal, the personalities of the family – and I always tip very generously here as I feel is right.I could not recommend it more.As others said, it is a dining experience, not a place for you to just stop, fill your tummy, pay the bill and begone. If you are in a rush, look elsewhere – that isn’t at all what Khun Pix’s is about.Pros + Del

This is one of the better Thai restaurants I’ve been to around Portland. Much better than Typhoon, although not as good as Mai Thai. I didn’t experience the same bad service the other reviewers did, but I went when it was dead and the employees had nothing better to do than give us attention, although it was slow in getting our food. I would recommend this place, except that Mai Thai is pretty close and even better.

Having just recently grown to love Thai food I have been wanting to experiement with some new places and decided to check out reviews on Citysearch. Chaba Thai came up as one of the best so when my parents came into town for a visit we decided to check this place out. I was hoping the place lived up to the reviews but it FAR exceeded them. There were six adults and one 5 year old and we ordered seven items and shared family style. The food came quickly and each dish was amazing! We all were raving with the little time we weren’t stuffing our faces and ummming and ahhhing through each fork full. I may be a novice to Thai but my parents are not, having eaten at countless places from Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Portland, and across the US and they said it was the most conistantly best food dish to dish they had ever eaten so that says alot. It is small but we did not have a wait at 6pm on a Friday night. Busy and loud but for a group of seven it was ideal. Our food came quickly, ev

Finally went here after seeing DDD on foodnetwork. I got here early on purpose so i wouldn’t have to wait. I drove past and know one was there, as I looked for a parking spot. about 3 min later i came to the front and about 4 groups of people appeared! So we waited a little bit, but not bad. I went with my 2 year old. Why not? I don’t like when people think you cant go to a “hip” Place with a child. why should my life stop? Well that is the attitude i felt from my server. The wings were really good, and i think every table around me ordered them! I hate the spicy chili boar , oh my gosh! I thought i could handle hot and spicy but i was wrong. this made my mouth burn and the ice bok choy didn’t help me much. It was very good flavors, but i think i will try something more calm next time! All the other staff were nice and i enjoyed it. It is very expensive, but it’s all made fresh. Pros + foodCons – wait, micheal
