We just had a great dinner at Siam Society. My only complaints are that we were seated by the open door on a chilly rainy evening instead of in the other half of the restaurant which remained empty. Seemed like they were really trying to keep everyone on the bar side. The cocktails are always creative and well executed. Some of the flavors on this menu are nontraditional, with even some Brazilian influence, which sounds odd but mostly hits the mark. There are a few plates I’m not too fond of, including the hazelnut spring rolls, but some people may love them, and most of what we’ve had in our 4 or 5 visits has been really delicious. Our kettle of Thom Kha soup was rich and velvety with complex flavors. The Kao Soi chicken is a standout, but all of the curries I’ve had there have been delicious, including the halibut in green curry with mango. The space is beautiful – it’s a fun place to bring people from out of town. Bring a sweater on a chilly day though, as such lofty ceilings must

I hosted my husband’s birthday party at Sweet Basil recently. There was a group of 12 of us plus one toddler. We started out the evening on the patio which was wonderful, a great outdoor dining location. It started to rain though and they moved us inside very quickly. The food was awesome (we love the crab wontons!) , the service was great and we really appreciated how hard they tried to make this a great night for my husband’s birthday. They helped me get his cake ready and even dimmed the lights when the candles were lit. We were a loud , rambuncious crowd and they took it all in stride. Thanks! We highly recommend this location for a special occasion.

My friends and I entered the restaurant at 9:00pm with a warm welcome and a quiet atmosphere. We were hungry and ready to order. Our server initially was pleasant, but seemed rushed. Once our food arrived, we didn’t have any complaints, and enjoyed our meal as we had a fun conversation. 3/4 of the way through our meal, the waitress stated, “Not to be rude, but we want to close our Visa machine so we can go. Are you paying cash or credit? Can I have your card now?” It was a little after closing time at that time. We gave her our card and finished our meal. During that time, the wait staff was standing over us, watching our last bites and pushing us out the door. Keeping in mind, this was not long after they closed the doors to any new customers. The waitress grabbed our leftovers from the table, put them in a bag for us and handed them to us and pushed us out the door. A friend had to use the bathroom before we left, which seemed to inconvenience her. We left willingly, kno

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! if you like real thai food, you should try this restaurant. It’s a little hard to find, but that’s where the good food is. I’ve been going to this restaurant for atleast 3 times a week, good service, good food, and everything else. If you don’t believe me, that’s fine, try it yourself :)- – – – – – – – – – – *****add – 06/30/06more than a year that i’ve been to this restaurant, most of the things i see are improvement.. new food, friendly service, taste… just a great restaurant. I know sometimes they got a busy hour peak.. service might be a bit lousy, but they’re still trying to serves you as best as they could, i can feel it. For this kind of services, and the taste of food, i wouldn’t mind to find the restaurant
