Where is the Best Thai Food in Indianapolis, Indiana?
Great food! The place is not the most spectacular looking from the outside, but the food is wonderful. If you ever tire of the same old Chinese food around every other corner, you must try this place. If you like lo mein, Pad Thai should be on your short-list of things to sample. The place is run by only the owner and his wife, but they are both very friendly. The spring rolls are to die for. Since I first tried them a couple of years ago, I have not been able to eat egg rolls since. They are that good. I don’t understand why this place doesn’t get more attention than it does, but I did see some pictures and was told by the owner that they are frequently visited by some crew members of local news stations. I highly recommend the Thai House for anyone looking to get something other than Chinese or for anyone just looking to have some good food.Pros + Food and ServiceCons – Not the most attractive place around
I’ve never eaten in this restaurant, but I get carry-out all the time. The lady taking my order sounds very enthusiastic whenever I ask for a menu item to be made vegan. She explained that they will omit fish sauce and egg and supplement with tofu. Their pad thai is amazing, as are the drunken noodles! They even have soymilk in a can! The place is decorated nicely. Check out the brain on the ceiling.
I have eaten lunch there with friends and this last time I took my husband who isn’t big on Oriental food. He doesnt like Chinese restaurants but wanted to try it out since I crave it! I usually get the Thai Pad or Spicy Noodles. This last time husband got the Spicy noodles and I got the Thai Pad. Both were very good, the service was great and friendly. LEFTOVERS are the best! They give you enough to take home for a later meal. I mixed the two together and made an awesome meal! Something they should consider for the menu! I would highly recommend this place! If you like spicy you need to ask by number! It isnt very seasoned for a 0, 4 is medium and 6 I was hot! So when you order tell them what number you want it!Pros + Food, ServiceCons – Atmosphere
Having steamed around the world many times on numerous different aircraft carriers during my 10 years in the Navy, pulling into Thailand was always one of my favorite ports almost exclusively for the food. Because of this I am pretty picky when it comes to my Thai here in Indy, so I was blown away at how amazing Jasmine was compared with the real thing. I have dined here more times than I can count and never had a bad experience. As another reviewer mentioned, the option of choosing the amount of “heat” you want is a nice touch, because in Thailand they only had two choices: a) “Hot as Hell” and b) “Hey, Let’s See if We Can Make This American Cry, and Crap Lava” I normally ended up with choice “b” usually washed down with many, many, many formaldehyde laden Tiger beers. Wonderful Thai food; some of the best I’ve ever had. This place could compete with Thai restaurants in New York or Chicago. Recommended: the Thai green curries (Thai basil, coconut milk, protein of your choice, aromatic Thai curry seasonings).
