Where is the Best Thai Food in Detroit, Michigan?
The waitresses are typically dressed in traditional clothing which gives a nice touch to the experience. I agree with the other reviewers, it is best to go around lunch time but be prepared to wait. The portions are large and if you order a dish hot make sure water is close at hand. My favorite dish is the chicken pad thai, extra sauce, and lemon. My only complaint is the soup. I dislike mushrooms and all the soups I have seen offered when I was there contained them. You will be taking a container of food home so if you are not one with a large appetite you could share a dish. Pros + Pleasant Atmosphere, Tasty FoodCons – parking can be tight, On very bust road
Everyone recommends this place, but I was definitely unimpressed. The phad thai was mediocre at best. It lacked flavor and to compensate, it had quite a bit of kick. Kick but no flavor. The waitress was eager to clear our table even though we weren’t finished with our meal. Annoying to say the least. The place wasn’t even close to being crowded.Cons – the food, ambience
Before Pi’s was Pi’s it was a cheap burger joint. I lived in the neighborhood. When the cheap burger joint closed, the building went unused for a short period of time. Then a couple were to be seen inside, making repairs, Eventually the doors opened and Pi’s Thai Cuisine was born. I have never had Thai before, and a friend and I decided to try it. We were amazed. The bursts of flavor and heat and sweetness combined to perfection. I was hooked. Since then I have tried many other Thai places, some good, others terrible, but NONE matches Pi’s combinations and style and so far NO OTHER has even come close to Pi’s Tom yum soup.I had moved to Texas some years back and lived there for two years. I would dream of Pi’s and my eventual return. Once back in Michigan, A #9 Pad Ped (medium), and a Tom Yum Soup from Pi’s was top on my priority to do list.Pros + Finest meats and seafoodCons – Small eat in area
