Where is the Best Sushi in Dallas, Texas?
One of our co-workers have been raving about this place so we had to go check it out. With us was a vegetarian, always a tough customer for sushi places. But she loved it. The sashimi was great too. I love the Japanese decor and the cozy feel of the restaurant. My dilemma is I can’t say whether I like Mr. Sushi or Mrs. Sushi more.Pros + Great sushi. Creative presentation. Cons – Pricier than your normal lunch fare
I had dinner at The Sushi Bar and must say it was a outstanding. The service was superb and the food was delicious. The owner was extremely friendly and let us have some wine and some sushi rolls on the house. This was my second sushi experience in Dallas. The first left much to be desired (like more food for the price and a couple more bills in my wallet). I went off of this previous experience when ordering at The Sushi Bar. However, to my suprise my girlfriend and I ended up having to cancel two orders of sushi rolls and sashimi before being prepared because we were already stuffed!! We actually ended up taking some back home with us because we couldnt finish it all. I must add that the prices are going to be hard to beat. I compared my experience at The Sushi Bar to my many sushi experieces while over seas and it matched up quite well (price wise and quality). I guarantee you won’t leave The Sushi Bar with an empty stomach or nothing but lint in your pockets. Pros
Tei Tei had been recommended to me by an associate, but my decision to go was rather spontaneous after realizing another room service meal at my hotel was just not appetizing. I arrived at the restaurant famished (and cranky), without a reservation, and was a bit grumpy at finding that the only available space was at the sushi bar. Initial service was a bit slow, but once the manager noticed I was twitchy he personally took care of my orders and did an excellent job of making me feel more welcome and well taken care of. One of the key attractions at Tei Tei is the robata style of cooking, which involves cooking food like seafood, vegetables, and meats over traditional oak charcoal. In order to sample some of the robata-style offerings I ordered the house specialty marinated sea bass (the marinade is miso-based) and grilled shishito peppers. And for a more “normal” sampling, I also ordered the chef’s choice sashimi combination with fresh grated wasabi and a spicy tuna hand roll with cuc
This place is NUTS! Around 9 it turned into this big bar scene…which I was told ahead of time but did not really expect the drunk, sloppy girls to be screaming and throwing themselves at older men in the dining area. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere. Would go back to drink at the bar but beware if you are there to eat or have kids…I would go early.
good food, fast service, priced rightI was seeing a play at UTD and just happened to stop at the Stone Horse for a quick bite. I didn’t expect much but was happy to find a really good sushi place by accident. They seemed to really care about the service and offered a great menu. for $20.00 I got some wonderful fried dumplings that came to hot a tasty followed by a California roll with crab meat plus a very nice steak done to my request on a bed or mashed potatos and to top the meal fresh creme brule(sic). I will be going back.Pros + exceptional service and foodCons – its not closer to my home
