Where is the Best Sushi in Charlotte, North Carolina?
My father went to Japan for two months on buisiness a few years ago. When we entered the restaurant he said that it reminded him of the restaurants in Japan. Not the trendy, 200-dollars-just-to-sit-down places, but where Japanese people go to eat. In my opinion, the setting was wonderful, soothing, and quiet, the food was good, and it made for a highly enjoyable meal. I would suggest this place to anyone looking for a real Japanese setting and authentic food.Pros + Relaxing, Authentic, Exellent FoodCons – Hard to Find, Bad for Large Groups
Ok listen. I have read a lot of the bad reviews on this site and all of them are ridiculous. I could go on forever with rebuttal after rebuttal to your ridiculous statements, but in the essence of time I have picked some of my favorites to dissect. Here goes. “Rusans is noisy” Yeah, I hate it when people welcome you to the restaurant with an energetic greeting. I want a hostess with no personality to guide me to my seat as I follow like a lemming enjoying no dialogue or candid banter whatsoever. If you want somewhere to eat where its quiet, eat at home. We dont want you there sneering at people enjoying life anyways. “The service is terrible” Oh, I would hate to be there spending time with my friends or loved ones having extra time to converse about life, or the days events, or anything intellectual. I want my food now, before everyone else, and I want to be treated like the only person in there. Problem is, a LOT of people go to Rusan’s because of several reasons, an
After reading all the great reviews we decided to try it out. The service is HORRIBLE but the food wasn’t bad. The one reviewer who stated that the food is as good as NY and LA must have really bad luck finding sushi restaurants. I just moved here from LA and MAI doesn’t come even close. The tuna was great and the salmon looked as if it was stored on the counter for about 2 hours. The price is great per roll but the rolls are tiny so be prepared to break out the MC/VISA. All in all, it is the best we’ve had so far and I would go back.
As an avid Asian food fan, Japanese especially – we were really looking forward to this restaurant. The music was a little loud for our liking – but it suited the atmosphere, so that is just a personal choice. The service was quite quick and friendly, though this could have been due to it being a slow night. But the food – Miso soup no complaints. Goza – there was no dipping sauces to go with this ….. But the sushi platter was a different story. The sushi rice was dry and the fish was a little dry on the top – suggesting that this had not been made fresh. The ginger was so old and tasteless that it was merely for decoration. Overall – perhaps if you have never eaten Japanese, then you might like it here, however for those among us that actually know what good Sushi is like – then avoid eating here. Perhaps try their ‘other Japanese style’ dishes – though I wish you the best of luck with this. Pros + Serve Japanese beerCons – Sushi was dry
