Where is the Best Sushi in Baltimore, Maryland?
I was never a person to eat out at a “real” restaurant. Does the napkin go in your shirt, aorund your neck, on your lap. I didn’t want to make a fool of myself by pretending to know what I was doing so I settled for Interstate “restaurants”, seeing that i amd 5 mins away from 95. First, I HATE fish with a passion! SO now you ask why i would go to a Sushi Bar?? Well, in 2005 I met a wonderful guy who clued me in to this restaurant, and now i am hooked, and I honestly believe the boys that cook that food can make anything taste good. I’ve eaten Sushi and not choked on it going down :)) and I am now hooked on Octopusut This place is it one of the most chill, relaxed atmosphers in Balt. and they also serve wonderful cooked dishes, and appitizers too. I suggest you do what i did and try everything on the menu at least once, then you have a clear deffinition of what you like and don’t like although I don’t think I dislike ANYTHING they serve. What else can I say, the food is out o
Not an authentic Japanese restaurant. It is owned and ran by chinese owner.. If you’re the type that thinks panda express is chinese food, taco bell is mexican food, and pizza hut is italian food, then, you’ll love the sushi-king. Pro: average rollsCons: miso soup tasted like sweet sugar soup. Sushi (tuna, salmon, red snapper) poor smell… Did not like it. The sushi rice wasn’t prepared correctly… I would not take my japanese friends to this joint… Pros + nothingCons – poor service, poor sushi quality, and very poor miso soup…
Asahi Sushi, for everything that it is, is quite possibly one of the best sushi places I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat at. From the moment you enter you feel at ease. Greeted by a maneki-neko (those welcoming cat statues typical of Japanese establishments) the place is cozy, warm, and unassuming. This isn’t the sort of place that makes you feel like you need to know the sound of one hand clapping to enjoy the food. The effort they save on gussying up the place most definitely goes into the food though. The rolls are some of the best I’ve ever had, always fresh, good texture, great flavor, perfect size, well made. I’ve been to so many sushi restaurants that served mushy fish, or rolls that fell apart, or fish that tasted like almost nothing, to rice that wasn’t fully cooked. Asahi makes sushi very well, and it has just the right flavor, i.e. if you order a spicy roll, it’s not going to be drowning in hot sauce (like some other places I’ve been). The staff is very friendly too.
