Where is the Best Steak in Tucson, Arizona?

The food here is excellent and because of that this place is always packed. Yes there can be huge wait times, but the portions are enough to feed a small army and the margaritas there are to die for. You could order a bloomin onion and still have enough to share with 4 or 5 of your friends! Wow!

Ok, so I went AGAIN. I really hadn’t been there in some time, but traveled back to Tucson to re-visit my old high school pals. Abners, to us, is a very different place. When we were kids, there really WAS roping on Sundays. Silver Bell Road WAS dirt. The bar had a SWAMP COOLER with jars of pickled egs and a fifty-cent piece nailed to the bar. The Road is paved, and if it weren’t for the old A-1 Pilsner Beer sign I would have missed it. HOWEVER…the food is still great. the beans taste like BEANS? IMAGINE!! The steak is cooked over a hot mesquite fire and the porterhouse is 32 oz. and you CAN eat it! Beer is cold and since the place is on the east face of the mountain, in the summer it’s warm but not hot outside (warm and hot are terms with very different meanings to Tucsonans rather than new yawkas) I’ve never been disappointed, and I was not two weeks ago. My wife, who had never been there remarked that the bar had an INTERESTING aroma…I opined that it just smelled like home…

I used to live in Tucson & the food at this place was always legendary. Briefly back in the area, I wanted to stop in again “for old time’s sake.” Boy was I disappointed! The steak was good, service stellar, but they use margarine & artificial sour cream. The server brought us real butter when we requested it, but who eats artificial sour cream on a baked potato? The stuff is nasty!People concerned with cholesterol aren’t usually out for steak & potatoes. Besides, artificial dairy is far worse for people’s health than the real thing & the taste is awful. When I want steak & potatoes I certainly don’t want artificial (ie: plastic) anything. Everything else was excellent, but I won’t go back again. I refuse to eat artificial butter or sour cream. I want real dairy & real beef, PERIOD.I’ve never heard of an old west steakhouse serving margarine or artificial sour cream. Plastic food is for doll houses. I don’t want to eat off plastic plates or cutlery either… is that next?Pros + St

Great location Nice atmosphere Not too big Pleasant rooms and facilities in a great location Great video selection Best mini bar! ……….. But I am being generous stating that staff attitude is moderate (i.e. reception/concierge not room service). They seem to care more about ‘celebrities’ than mere mortals which is plain dumb. We are all paying the same aren’t we?…
