I took several employees to Old San Francisco Steak House for a Christmas party. Everyone was disappointed. The wait staff didn’t have a clue. One steak was taken back twice because no one in the kitchen knew what rare meant. One of my group had to wait for his steak so long that everyone else was finished eating. I was supposed to get Bearnaise Sauce with mine and no one had a clue what that was even though it was on the menu. I was brought a small bowl of melted butter. When I made the reservation I was NOT told that the restaurant didn’t have a liquor license they just served beer and wine and the wine selction was limited and poor. It was a Christmas party…everyone including me was looking forward to a few drinks! The food was mediocre at best. I don’t think the cooks knew what spices were used for.The only resemblance between the old and new San Francisco Steak House under new ownership is the building and it is in need of repair.Best advice I can give is “stay away”.

I am a frequent diner of J. Alexanders, and their Croissants are just to die for! Just ask for a basket(3pcs) if you didn’t see it on menu. I do agree of previous review of it might not be the best place to bring infants or young child to, however i did sat w/some well behave toddlers during a sunny afternoon in their patio. guess it just denpends on how good your child behave. Given it’s atomsphere and hearty portion of food, the price is pretty reasonable. Although i did got an uncooked salmon once, the manager certainly took good care of it…unlike other famous chain store…read my other reiviews if you r interest. Over all I do encourage you to pay them a visit when you have a chance to hang around The Quarry. Pros + To Die for Croissants!

My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary, approximately 20 years after our first visit. The food was exceptional and well worth the ?above average? prices. We were pleasantly greeted at the front door, seated immediately, and service was superb. We started our meal by splitting the ?Waiters Special salad with the ?White French? dressing. The salad was crisp, fresh and perfectly chilled. The marinated asparagus added an interesting and enjoyable flavor and salad quantity, even split, was ample. My wife had the Ribeye as her entree which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had the Smoked Prime Rib and an added Stuffed Roast Quail. The prime rib was some of the best I have ever eaten (and I am a huge prime rib fan). The flavor of the meat added by the ?witches brew? marinade was wonderful; the smoke was evident, but not overpowering and the meat was cooked exactly to order. The ‘Grey Moss Squash’ was robust, but a definite and delightful change from the usual bland broccoli or mi

Your server will make fresh guacamole for you right at your table! It’s wonderful (and spicy!). We really liked this restaurant and it’s much better than most on the Riverwalk. The vegetable enchiladas, tomato salad, and prime rib were all wonderful. They’ve got a huge wine selection. Indoor/outdoor seating available. Beautiful collection of antique mirrors all over the wall where we sat. Loved it!Pros + Fresh guac, great drinks
