Where is the Best Steak in Richmond, Virginia?
Went here last weekend. It was an “above average” all around. I only give truly superb restaurants a 5 star rating. We were seated promptly, our server was very friendly, I enjoyed her very much. The wine selection was pretty comprehensive. I’m a stickler on the correct stemware for the wine, and their stemware was appropriate. The big lump of bread they give you is fantastic! I almost ate the whole thing single handedly. My poor husband got the short end of the stick on that one. If you have read any of my other reviews, I always try the caesar salad because that is to me, an important review criteria. The caesar was wonderful, and it takes a lot for me to say that. It wasnt the best in the country, but certainly very good. I got the filet, and it was cooked to my liking, very good. I get steak every week on my date night with my husband, so I eat a lot of it. Although there were several other restaurants in Richmond which I considered to have my 50th birthday celebration I chose Buckhead’s and was extremely pleased. Our dinner party of 12 was seated on time, attended to by a courteous and educated waiter, and appreciated the quiet atmosphere. Weenjoyed several varied appetizers(escargot, calamari), a fine bottle of white zinfandel, and great steaks and seafood. The portions were appropriate and everything was prepared to perfection. Our waiter was courteous and knowledgeable and we would not hesitate to have future important events celebrated at Buckheads. Finally, the location is wonderful since it is very close to a major road(Parham and Patterson Ave) and so easy to find parking since it is in a strip shopping center. So this is the place to go for impeccable service and great food.
this was my birthday dinner with my husband .I got a 9oz sirloin it was under cooked i sent it back it came out after my husband was finished his 12 oz prime rib. So he is sitting watching me eat i did not like this very much . They gave no applages for thisthere were many steaks sent back that night. I feal that the cook was eather new or did not know how to cook. thanks alot…..
Atomsphere was loud – background music to loud(but good quality for atomsphere) neighboring tables were talking loudly to be heard over music, it was very hard to hear what the waiters were saying, steaks were not cooked to desired done-ness, grills are to hot for cooking steaks properly. Portions were large but for the price not very good taste. Wait staff knowledgble but were not very attentive, took 25 minutes to get our appetizer order to waiter – took 3 hours to complete our meal with 7 people. Bill came to one price with 20% graduity built in – menu states 18% for parties over 6. paid with credit card and the total came back different from orginal bill. still trying to correct 3 days latter. Manager was not responsive to our need for attentionto correct bill errors. Went on a Saturday night.
