Where is the Best Steak in Richmond, Virginia?

Great local restaurant. The service was good. The atmosphere was good. The food was very good. I wouldn’t call it 5 star, but for local cuisine, we thought it was excellent and the price wasn’t unreasonable. We had:She Crab soup – was very good, a little too much Old BayCrab Dip appetizer – came in a bread bowl, very goodBroiled shrimp – a little overdone, but still goodCrab Cakes – excellent, very little filler. Key lime pie – greatOverall, we loved it, we would definitely go again. Compared to almost any good restaurant in NY, it would be mediocre, be we aren’t in NY. For local eats, I’d say very good.Pros + good food, good viewCons – ambience and service could be better

I will admit the food we did get was awesome as far as quality and taste. The steak was huge, tender and cooked great. The baked potato was large enough to cover a large dinner plate and could serve probably 3 people. The shrimp coctail arrived with 5 very large shrimp. I do think this place is overpriced. Definatley a romantic spot to go, although last time we went it looked like the local grease monkeys were having meeting at the table behind us. The dress code for that place should probably be a little more enforced…I don’t like the idea of paying $150 for my wife and I to eat with slobs sitting behind us. The service is excellent and as other reviews have stated the place is down right beautiful. Parking does suck on busy nights…Pros + Good food, large portions, romanticCons – OVERPRICED, Parking, portions too large

Was looking forward to Bookbinders for our weekly nice dinner for my husband and I. Its pretty inside and the ambience is nice. They honored our request and got us a booth so that we could sit next to each other. Most of the patrons have their nose up in the air, so be careful. We don’t feel the need to flaunt our money, but it seemed many people here did. Server was unpleasant the entire time. We had to ask for bread from 3 people 4 times. It finally came with our entree. Not a good start to the meal. However, I must admit it was the best bread I’ve had in Richmond. hot sourdough, amazing butter. The caesar salads were quite good, and we both enjoyed them. I ordered the petite filet and my husband the blackened tuna. We both thought our dishes were good, but not over-the-top. They were satisfying, but not the best. For dessert we tried the key lime which is in a chocolate cookie crust. Interesting combination, but oh-so-good. Server never got friendlier. However, I would go back for t

We have eaten at The Chop House several times, some good, some not as good. We have never had a manager stop by and ask about anything. Today was a not so good day, I ordered the Greek Chicken Salad, it sounded good on the menu-,iceburg and romaine, pepperoncini, grape tomatoes, golden raisins, walnuts, feta cheese, black olives, marinaded chicken…Well it had the lettuce, lots of walnuts and feta and those nasty little California black olives (in a Greek salad!) and the chicken. When I mentioned to the waiter that the peppers and raisins were missing (I forgot about the tomatoes) he said ‘They are usually on the bottom’ I showed him they weren’t there and he offered to bring me some peppers if I wanted them. Again no manager ever showed up, no compensation on the bill and no apology. I feel that when your server knows that what he brought you is not what you ordered, someone should apologize.Pros + Good, warm bread.Cons – Lack of attention to detail.

I did not visit the Topekas in Richmond however I did recently visit the newly opened resurant in Charlottesville. Though the visit was pleasant I did find that loop of charlie chaplin a waste. The waitress was friedly and courteous as was the greeter at the door. My wife and son’s orders were good and prepared to their satisfaction. I personally ordered a steak which was probably my fisrt mistake. I ordered it medium -well however what I recieved was a medium-rare steak (Prime Rib) The waitress did offer to take it back and get it corrected, however I make it a point not to send food back to a kitchen in light of other bad experiences with tempermental cooks. I will more than likely give them another shot but I will not order another steak. I wish I had a number to call!!!!!!!!!Pros + personellCons – food prep
