Where is the Best Steak in Providence, Rhode Island?
A friend and I went here for Sunday brunch. She has two small children, and although for dinner, the White Horse is probably not “kid friendly” it certainly is for a casual meal such as brunch. When we arrived we politely asked if it would be ok for us to bring the children for brunch and if so, could we have two high chairs for them. The host rolled his eyes, and after arguing with the child’s mother about whether or not her child was old enough to sit in a high chair, found a secluded room for us to eat brunch in. After making us feel like lepers by ushering us off to the secluded room, he looked at me and said “you need to make sure that the little girl doesn’t roam around the restaurant…we’ve had accidents in the past from it happening”.Pros + Ambience, FoodCons – Service
I am literally on the fence in writing this review. In the interest of sounding positive, I?ll begin by stating Ten has the freshest sushi I have ever tried. I?ve tried other upscale sushi restaurants, but nothing comes close to Ten. Their pomegranate martini has to be the best known to woman (ok?and man). Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every item I?ve tried on the menu from New England clam chowder to the bacon wrapped steak to their decadent souffle. Now for the other side of the fence?the seating and layout of this building make it for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. There are only two decent tables: the two facing Pine Street directly in front of the windows. Even the third table in this area is no good, as it faces the inside and people congregate right on top of you as you?re eating. The rest of the tables I have [literally] been ?bumped? every time I sit in a chair in the aisle by staff and/or patrons while trying to eat.. It is the most uncomfortable fee
Nephews offers the best salads, great dressings. The Prime Rib is awesome, either the sandwich or dinner. We like the garlic pizza, very tasty and nice crust. But, my favorite is the baked stuff Shrimp withthe Crab Dressing. The best part of The Nephews is: There consistent, always the best, we’ve been going to the restaurant for 10yrs and still love it. Pros + ample parking, great service, charming restaurantCons – waiting for a table
