Where is the Best Steak in Hartford, Connecticut?
Max Downtown is a little more expensive than your basic restaurant in CT, but what you get for the extra money is a wide selection of interesting entrees and top-notch service. There were several menu items in the high-teens to low-twenties, which I would not call “pricey.” The ambience is nice if it’s not crowded…the tables are too close together. The service is top-notch. On two occasions, the servers were polite, prompt to acknowledge eye-contact, and patient, but not overly-friendly. We weren’t repeatedly approached make a decision and order, nor were we pressured to finish quickly. I will go back again and again.
I’ve been delighted at Morton’s Lower Manhattan and Chicago steakhouses. They’re doing their name a disservice in Hartford. There are at least two great restaurants in downtown Hartford with better steaks. I was shocked that they screwed up a filet. The potatoes lyonnaise were worse than bad-diner-home-fries. The service, however, was impeccable. This was some of the finest service we’ve received in Connecticut. We’ll be back; sometimes karma conspires to make a one-in-a-thousand situation occur.Pros + Service, AmbienceCons – Parking
Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse is the best that it gets. The food is always excellent, and generously portioned. The service and staff are always excellent, nice and friendly. The canadian theme is quite warm and inviting, especially during the cooler months with the grand fireplace always going. I dine there at least once a week, if not more…and do not usualy have any issues. As with every restaurant, there will be a mistake sometimes, but at bugaboo both our server and a manager always make sure that the problem is fixed. Since there are many different restaurants in the same area, there is a lot to choose from..but in my opinion try Bugaboo Creek first..and Im sure you will have an awesome experience!Pros + FOOD, Service, ambienceCons – Since Bugaboo is popular, there is a small wait sometimes
