Where is the Best Steak in Denver, Colorado?
Morton’s use to be the place to get great steak, the only place. Not so much anymore, it’s still good, but certainly not the best.We were in to the Denver location recently and had an average meal. The server was new and didn’t know the menu all that well, but was very friendly and attentive. She didn’t know much about the wine list which was rather disappointing. The steaks were slightly over cooked, but still great cuts of beef. The Caesar salad was way over dressed, more like soup. The jumbo lump crab cakes were perfect, crisp on the outside, nicely done. The hot chocolate cake is truly legendary and worth a trip back alone. With the price of quality aged beef today, it’s a sin to not have the steak at the proper temperature. A place like Morton’s knows better or at least use to.Pros + Great desserts and sidesCons – A little spendy, needs an interior make over, resting on laurels
I’ve been visiting Magnolia since it opened a few years ago. It has become a weekly staple of mine when the kids are at their dads house. I usually sit at the bar with Chuck and order a burger or crab cakes depending on my mood. I’ll tell ya I don’t know what the complaining is about the crab cakes because I come back specifically for them!! They aren’t pre-made like most restaurants serve but made in house with lumps of fresh crab meat. The menu has definitely changed up a little bit since it first opened with alot more casual offerings so us regulars can just grab a quick bite with out having a bite taken out of our wallet! I’m not a pasta fan so I don’t order any of the pasta dishes but its great to see some $13 entrees It is so nice to have a casual place to dine whre I know the food will be solid and the service always comes with a smile.Pros + service with a smile
I saw the restaurant was featured on man vs food. Looked amazing. I went online to look at the menu and discovered just how pricey this place is. I am looking for a romantic place to bring my beautifull co-worker who i am trying to romance, and honestly this place with its history and western theeme looks like the place where i will ask her to be my girlfriend… Kinda dorky but thats me..
1515 was a great dining experience. It is a great place for a date! The service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend getting the chef’s tasting menu. We did the 5 course meal which had a great sampling of the chef’s creations. The chef trained in Paris and also worked at Everest in Chicago. The food was fresh and creative with great flavors. I would recommend this restaurant!Parking is validated if you park in the lot just past Qdoba on Market!Pros + Great service, great date spot, the cuisine!Cons – None
I came here early on a Friday night with a party of three. We arrived around 5:30 and did not have reservations, but we were easily seated. By the time we left the restaurant, it was packed, so I’d recommend reservations if you’ll be eating during “normal” saturday night dinner hour. I ordered the double-portioned filet mignon. You’re already paying so much for the single portion that for almost double the ounces it’s only about $5 more. The leftovers made a great lunch the next day. The steak came out rare exactly like I ordered it. The side dishes are large enough to share with the table. We had an attentive waiter. Overall, it was a great experience. I agree with another reviewer who send you should expect to spend about $100 a head. The bill for my party of three came out to be about $250 plus $50 tip, so right on the money.Pros + great food, great serviceCons – Expect to spend LOTS of money
