Where is the Best Steak in Dallas, Texas?

This is one of our favorite restaurants, if not the favorite. We have been here on several occasions, and have always been impressed with the service and food. On our last trip we both had the peppered NY strip, which came back on the rare side when we ordered medium. They promptly took the steaks back and brought them back as we ordered them. The sides, mashed potatoes and green beans, were included with our meal, not an extra charge as is so common with other high end steak restaurants. The mashed potatoes were some of the best that I’ve ever had. Needless to say we were happy with the steak and sides. The strip is consistently high quality, some of the best steak around. Overall we’ve had nothing but good experiences here, and we’ll continue to come back again and again. It’s also a great place to bring guests from out of town, especially from out of state. It gives them a good “Texas” steakhouse experience.

We went to Capital Grille (uptown) for our anniversary last year and were very, very impressed. First of all – if you are celebrating a special occasion, be sure to let them know when you make reservations! We got there to find that our table had “Happy Anniversary” confetti sprinkled down the middle, a card signed by staff; a complimentary photograph was taken, our dessert was on the house, and I (the lady) was given a rose. Lovely experience! Now to the food…can I just say DROOL….! OMG…I ordered the French Onion Soup as an appetizer, and it is the best I’ve ever had; hubby had the lobster bisque and said it was the 2nd best he’s had, the first being when he was on a business trip in Maine, so there you go. My filet mignon was positively melt-in-your-mouth delectable, as were the garlic potatoes, and hubby loved his steak and asparagus as well. Service was impeccable; our waiter was not only very knowledgeable but also very friendly, didn’t talk down to us at all (as w

As a visitor on business to Texas my one goal was to “get a good steak”. Well this place wasn’t good, it was phenomenal! ! ! Probably the best steak I can remember eating at a steakhouse (and I have been to some pretty good ones!). Our waiter was helpful and courteous, a fellow musician as well. We skipped the appetizers to save room for the meal, but had the lettuce wedge and dinner salad, both of which were great, followed by the smaller Ribeye that included the potatoes and we ordered a side of the Spinach Supreme. Everything was perfect. The seasoning on the steaks was great and it didn’t need any extras like Bearnaise, Horseradish or butter. When our waiter brought the steaks to the table he asked us to cut them open and verify that they were cooked correctly because “a couple years ago someone received a steak that wasn’t to their liking, so now they check them all.” That was so impressive, at many mega chain restaurants I order my steak Rare so that it will come out Medium Rare!

Great good, service at the level you’d expect from a high-end restaurant, crowded, and noisy. We went there for the first time yesterday on a Saturday evening. Beginning with the complementary caviar appetizer, proceeding through excellent steaks and the sea bass special, and ending with beignet dessert, all of the food was outstanding. Wait staff were attentive and cordial. We (my wife and I both) were distracted by the extreme crowding, though. There were far too many tables packed together. No one, including waiters, could maneuver between chairs without kicking and bumping them constantly, and there were only a few places where anyone could even maneuver through at all. It was noisy on a weekend evening, and the prices were what you would anticipate… without any alcoholic drinks, our meals together ran $145 with tips. Good place, but know what you’re getting into.

As a transplant to Dallas; via Kansas City & Nebraska, I know a few things about steak! As a well traveled gastronomist, I was very pleased with my experience at the YO Ranch Steakhouse. Not only was it an authentic western ambiance, it was very educational, informative, & very informal. Very pleasing, given your initial impression when walking in. The wait staff is very knowledgable about wild game, wine and the delightful culinary complimentary relationship between the two. When I arrived I was directed to the bar until my table was ready. At the bar, i was delighted to meet a very professional bartender that treated myself and my party as if we were the most important guests in the establishment! This hospitality began before a single drink was ordered. Upon seating, my entire dining experience was in control of my server. Which I thoroughly appreciated as a first time guest. He guided me through the entire menu and specials and paused to thoroughly answer any questions we
