Where is the Best Steak in Chicago, Illinois?
My father first brought me here many years ago, as I have brought my son as well. Whenever there is a special occasion; it’s Myron & Phils’! I found the atmosphere charming enough to propose to my wife there four years ago. No matter what you order from the menu, you are guaranteed a delectable feast, from the chopped liver to dessert.I took my wife there last year for valentines day dinner, and they went above and beyond. With my reservation I had ordered a single rose to be delivered to the table (a real nice touch, guys). what I hadn’t expected was the presentation the waiter had prepared. My wife was speechless, with tears of joy. I too was left a little weepy, and I had arranged for this. One can find good food most anywhere (although hard pressed to find better), but it is also the people who make a restaurant. For atmosphere, food quality, and staff; five stars is not enough. It remains my favorite, and for good reason.
Celebrated my birthday dinner here this past weekend in Chicago. Made an early pre-theater dinner reservation for 6pm. When we walked in, the place was completely empty yet they seated us by the waiters’ station. Very odd. The food was good, and David Burke serves these popovers (instead of dinner rolls) that he also serves in the NYC location – delicious. We ordered a Pellegrino and the busboy brought it over, opened it, and just left it on the table. He didn’t pour it! We were confused. Several staffers walked by and didn’t pour it. Finally someone did. The food was good. They brought out their signature chocolate cake for no charge in honor of my bday for dessert. I thought that was a very nice touch. The restaurant gets loud as the night goes on, so be aware of that. All in all, a good experience.
My wife and I have eaten steaks all over Chicago, and we were very excited to try Rosebud Prime. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. We were a bit surprised when a server approached us and asked if we would like a drink, but there was no wine list or menus in sight. So we kindly requested a wine list. After we ordered drinks and they arrived we then were brought menus. We shared the lobster cocktail, and it was not only excellent but well presented. My corn chowder was perfect, just the right size and not too heavy or rich. My wife ordered a house salad with a side of creamy garlic, but that never came. We noticed the server next to us was using a small notebook, and I am fairly certain that meant all of his orders were filled. When we finally asked about the salad the server apologized and stated he would make it up to us with dessert. My Chicago bone-in ribeye was one of the best steaks I have eaten, and I highly recommend this to any steak lover. MY wife’s NY
