Where is the Best Steak in Chicago, Illinois?

On my first visit to Chicago, I decided to eat at places that would make the event memorable. The friendly coat and hat check attendant started the great service that extended to the waiters, bus boys, servers and maitre’ d. The dining experience was upscale, but the patrons and staffs were not snobbish. My waitress made excellent suggestions for me: creole style barbeque shrimp,, stuffed lobster, sweet potato casserole, cesar salad were served with a mineral water called Panna. Everything delicious, hot fresh. The servers never allow your drinks to be low and are super attentive. One draw back fo me is that everything on the menu is served a la carte, so you kind of have to know how to build your meal based on all the choices ( something I am not particulary good at)Pros + service, food quality, ambience, location, food selectionCons – pricey

Next week is going to suck! See, this week I really spoiled myself with two excellent prix fixe dinners. A few days after popping my Restaurant Week cherry, I ventured to Kinzie Chophouse to dine with some Yelp girlfriends. Kinzie is featuring their Winter Delights prix fixe special, which runs until March 19th. $20 gets you a choice of 2 salads, a choice of 4 entrees and a choice of 3 desserts. For my meal I went with the Chophouse salad, herb-crusted salmon, and chocolate cake. The salad was fine, a simple mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing. My entree was a generous serving of salmon over mustard sauce with a side of broccoli. The salmon was well prepared; it was both flavorful and moist. My only complaint about my entree is that I wish the mustard sauce had more kick, I found it to err on the bland side. To cap off my meal I went with the chocolate cake, it was so good! The cake was warm, with a soft, gooey center and chocolate sauce drizzled over the top. My plate was garni

Overall, a great place to go. Expect to spend 200-250 for two people at least if you are drinking 2 or more drinks a piece or wine. But large martinis, great, informative waiters and beautiful decor make this place a must visit. I have been to the Vegas/Palms Nine and I think the Chicago version is better. We asked for local club and bar venues (Ghost bar is right upstairs also) and the bartender came back with a list and detailed what to expect at each place and their closing times. Great job by him. Both our meals were very good, but they slighltly overcooked our ordered rare lamb chops. Not a big deal as there were still good. My bone-in Filet option was a staggering 68 bucks. Good, but on a return visit I would choose the standard filet or one of the cheaper steak versions and use the extra money on an appetizer or more drinks. The caesar salad very well could have been the best I have ever had (no anchovies per request). Some small flaws but worth the visit in Chicago’

My husband and I went with another couple. The atmosphere was nice but rather noisy. The food was relatively poor. The rolls were cold and hard. We had an appetizer of mussels that were rather bland. Most disappointing was the prime rib that was fatty, chewy and had an odd taste. The service was good but a bit hovering. This place is well below average especially when compared to other restaurants in this price range. I would not return.Pros + good serviceCons – poor food, noisy

Famous for their steaks the waiter brings out individual cuts of steaks raw of course to explain their house specialty. The steaks are usually cooked to perfection as you want it which mean medium rareis ACTUALLY medium rare. Theres no way one can finish a steak so usually people take home leftovers. Heres the interesting part the steaks taste just as good when you heat it up at home as it does in the restaurant. Also try their chocolate cakea slice can feed at least 5. It comes with a steak knife in the center.
