Where is the Best Steak in Boston, Massachusetts?
We’re talking $19 for a BURGER!! What ever happened to the burger being a “food for the people,” anyway? Luckily, it was Paul D’s birthday, so we had a legitimate reason to finally go, not that running a burger blog isn’t reason enough, but the time had come. Outside of the burger, not much surprised me about Radius; a reservation is necessary, the decor is stunning, parking is lousy and it would be an expensive night. Do people usually pay $14 for a cocktail? I must never go out for drinks, so I guess this is the norm. 8:00 on a Friday night I would have guessed the place would have been packed, but no, more than half the tables were empty, and that’s not just my pessimistic view coming through. We were a group of eight, late 20’s to early 30’s and about as nicely dressed as we can get, and with no dress code required, felt we deserved as good a service as anyone else. This isn’t the first place where I felt ageism was in issue and it wont be the last. If we had all worn tuxedos woul
I hadnt been to the Hilltop in years until last night. The last time I was there I may have possibly been eating off of the childrens menu so it could be as far back as about 15-20 years but I do remember good food and long lines neither of which were present this visit. My girlfriends father was in town from Florida on business and was told repeatedly by colleagues that he had to go to the Hilltop (I was skeptical due to recent reviews from family and friends) so we met him there for dinner. Yes, it was easy to park, we were seated immediately and the service was good though I guess it would be hard to be otherwise consdering we seemed to have two servers and we were asked everything and offered everything twice (which by the end of the meal was becoming annoying, we’d order desert and then the other waitress would ask if we wanted desert!). The three of us ordered steak, I had the sirloin tips and my girlfriend and her father ordered filets. None of us were impressed. The salad
It’s funny. I was reading all the review before taking my boyfriend here for his birthday. I’ve been to A&L’s before, but it was years ago and I didn’t quite remember what it was like. I was a bit nervous because I really wanted him to have an excellent meal on his birthday. The person who answered the phone was a bit rude so I was VERY nervous that the waiters might be the same way. Not true at all. (We went on a Thursday night) First of all, it is LOUD in there. Most of its customers are Professionals. I had to speak loudly and my boyfriend was less than 3 feet away from me. Second, yes, the hostesses wear clothing that is… scandalous. Low LOW LOW cut shirts and Short Short skirts…. haha. Third, they did basically clear our table/fill our drinks QUICKLY. This can be a pro or con for people. Our glasses of water were never even half empty! It was a little bit annoying that the waitstaff was coming over every 5minutes to literally throw water into our glasses while I was trying
