Where is the Best Steak in Austin, Texas?

Our server was prompt and friendly and the decor lovely, however the seasoning on both my and my husband’s steaks were quite salty. The filling to my steak, while good, wasn’t great and there wasn’t nearly as much as I’d expected. For dessert, my husband’s key lime pie was fabulous but my cheesecake was merely OK and I had to ask for additional topping for it since what came with it was merely a drizzle around the edge of the plate.Overall, the meal was OK, but certainly not worth the $100+ we paid for it. Next time we’d go back to Fleming’s for the price point.Pros + The key lime pie is deliciousCons – The rest the meal was OK, but for the price should be much better

I found Siver and Stone while driving through downtown Georgetown. Boy am I glad I did! My wife and I went to the top of the building and enjoyed the best view of the N.Austin in the area. Six stories up and a wrap around porch. I plan on going back and watching the fireworks after the Friday Express games. We both shared the mushroom appetizers and each had a glass of wine. They were fantastic! The mood was causual but not too casual. They also had a band that was playing on the patio to help ease you into the weekend. I do plan on going back for brunch on Sunday. If the brunch menue was as tasty as the happy hour bar menue, I will not be disappointed. I strongly suggest goiing. I give it a 5 star rating and I will return! Pros + food, happy hour, view

I enjoy a good meal. Eating out has always been an occasion for me-be it a simple diner snack or an elegant five course extravagance.I love the whole experience. My requirements are straightforward-good food prepared by a chef that cares about his ingredients and the entrees he prepares and a staff that cares if the customer-specifically me-is enjoying the meal they have provided.I want to feel that I am important when I eat out. Too many restaurants make me feel like I am intruding upon them if I ask for anything that is not part of the routine. I want to be able to ask for my favorite wine or even a simple request of having my salad dressing on the side. I’m not looking to be picky;I’m just looking to be well taken care of. My associate, Donald, told me to try the Emerald out in Bee Caves.”It’s family-owned and operated (rarely found in today’s everchanging restaurant industry) since 1984. Tell them that I sent you and bring me back some Irish Soda bread!”Well, I did make the reserva

What a surprise this Lake Travis restaurant was – great food, views, and ambience! That is a unique combination. We drove out the first time along the road past Volente to the Lime Creek Marina and took the marina lift down past the waterfall to this charming cafe hanging over the lake. The mahogany plank flooring, teak tables and chairs, and metal sculptures set the stage for a varied menu. We sampled four dishes $13 to 23 all with yummy sides included. The Snapper Louisiane had a Cajun cream sauce over the crawfish/shrimp.The NY Strip was 10 oz of tender steak covered with blue cheese, scallions, and candied pecans. The Jamaican jerked chicken breast and shrimp stuffed with jack cheese and jalapenos rounded out the entrees. These in addition to the appetizers, wine and drinks made this a must return experience. Our second visit was by boat using convenient free slip by the restaurant. This time we concentrated more on the salads and desserts. Favorites were the Lake Travis Summe

We go to Ciola’s at least once a week and consider ourselves resident “regulars”… we don’t go for the food, although we do eat a lot of the time we come in. (best cesear salad in town, hands down.) Sit at the bar- we have fantastic service at the tables, but the bar staff is the reason we chose to go there half the time. Lonnie, the sarcastic, and Chanel, the sweet girl-behind-the bar will take good care of you! Drinks are great, atmosphere is dark wooded, velvet curtained, and fantastically tavern-like. Baseball memoribila lines the walls, and in the late afternoons/early evenings, the bar is filled with the “boys club” of the local golf courses emptying out 12:00 tee time players. They all seem to gather at Ciola’s at the end of the day, to have a cocktail or share an appetizer. Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin crone in the background, and you get the feeling you are in another time. The seated portion of the restaurant is non-smoking, and if you prefer it, I recommend the c-
