Where is the Best Spa in Austin, Texas?
This was our first time at She-Etc. From the time we parked to the time we left, it was a great experience. My husband was a little hesitant to get a couple’s massage since his last massage at a different location was not the best. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with very friendly service. We felt very comfortable from the very beginning. For the couple’s massage, they took us to a little cottage in the back of the main house. As soon as you walk in to the cottage, you know you are in for a great experience. The place was very cozy, warming, decorated beautiful, candles lit all over, fireplace, music that you can just close your eyes and go to la la land. It was so nice that my husband even said, “wow.” We had our private restroom and then our one hour couple’s massage began. My husband and I both agree that we had an awesome massage. This place is GREAT!! They have great friendly staff, they are always smiling and upbeat from the receptionist to other employees. The place is always clean, parking is not a prob!!! I go there to get my hair done by Ms Pam. She takes really good care of my hair and gets me in and out in a timely manner every time. She focuses on me the whole time, makes me feel like Royalty!! They are also very flexibel with scheduling, great customer service!! I highly recommend hair stylist Emily Hatfield for a haircut and/or color. Finally, after 5 years of being in the Austin area, I have found a true expert and professional in the hair industry. I have long, straight, heavy hair; that I find sometimes, female stylists have a hard time handling. I’m typically open to whatever hair cutting technique the stylist wants to use, as long as they ‘keep the length’ 😉 …but extremely picky when choosing color …having dark brown hair, it’s easy to look like a zebra. Emily immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease with her warm, yet outgoing personality, and vast knowledge of hair color and care products. I loved that I could leave so much of the decision making up to her, and came out looking like a million bucks. I live and work in Round Rock, so when my appointment went a little past 8pm, I was surprised and delighted at how welcome the staff still made me feel; and didn’t try to rush me out. After looking at pictures on their website, I thought the spa looked nice. I thought their prices (even the member rates were high) were inflated but figured you were paying for quality and the spa experience. Was I wrong. My sister and I were escorted to the waiting area, which was actually the hallway to all treatment rooms. Built with stone, to say that it sounded like a cave with an amplified echo factor is no understatement. While waiting, there was so much foot traffic it was distracting and to make it worse, the door to the nail room was open and 2 nail techs were talking loudly and incessantly about some annoying subject (shopping??), all the while their entire conversation loudly and clearly reverberating down the hallway. While waiting there for 15 minutes, at least 5 employees walked through the hall and never even considered shutting the door. Finally, their client i.e. me, got up and shut the door. I got word of this place by the Groupon of the day. I had my best friend in town from FL, so we wanted to pamper ourselves. I called about 2 weeks in advance for a Jan. 2nd appointment. I had no problems and the person was very pleasant at the Lamar location. She mentioned we would receive a call to confirm our appointments. I didn’t get one and figured due to New Year’s Day, it might have been missed. I called before our scheduled time on Jan. 2nd to find out she booked it for Feb. 2nd. I was very distraught and unhappy about this mistake. The lady on the phone was very polite and did what she could to save the situation by trying to rebook. Â The times were inconvenient for the next day. We figured out a time to reschedule but I had to bring up if there’s anything she could do since we were so inconvenienced.
