Where is the Best Skin Care in Portland, Oregon?
This past Autumn, many of Portland’s Yuko clients were frantic to learn that Ziva’s very own Kristoffer, super best Yuko dude in Portland, was departing Ziva for the East coast. Over the past 2 months, as I kept staring at my 4 inches of emerging silver frizz, I wrung my hands, read tons of on-line reviews about other Yuko trained stylists in Portland but remained paralized by intertia and fear of a ‘blind date’ with an unknown, chemical welding stylist. My fear of the unknown included the new Yuko stylist at Ziva as well. But, at least I knew that she had enjoyed the opportunity of working with Kristoffer prior to his departure. So, I called Joe Snell, owner and manager, and explained my fears;…broken hair, burned head and escalated cost due to less experienced technician working slower (Kris was VERY quick and productive). Tesla Rocks! and not in a bad 80s hair band kind of way…I read all about Vanity Junkie on Citysearch (along with many other salons) and decided to give it a try. I typically go to local schools (Aveda and Paul Mitchell) for services as I don’t get to riled up about salons in general. I wanted a new look and wasn’t sure what it was exactly, just something different than I usually have. I walked into VJ was welcomed and waited for my appt on a comfy couch. Tesla greeted me and took time to discuss what we should do to change my look, she had a lot of good ideas. Her skills and personality made the appt fun and time flew. Now I have a great style that works for when I let my unruly wavy hair do its thing and can be sleekly styled with a flat iron. I will be back to see them! I went to Blooming Moon for the first a few months ago and saw Ginny for a lash tint and wax and loved it! I was torn because I had another esthetician that I had been going to for over a year and was happy with the her work but not necessarily the whole salon that I had to go to to see her. I’m very picky about my brow and lip wax, my eyebrows keep on growing and having hair on your upper lip is never fun so I am always picky on who is going to do a good job with the brow shape for my face and not leave my eyebrows too thin and red and my lip puffy and pink. Ginny knows whats up and took care of me! The whole atmosphere at Blooming Moon was great, the location is close to my work, and the price is well worth it for the awesome services that they have. I went back this time with my husband, he got an perfect massage from Racheal and can’t wait to go back. I had been looking for someone to trust with my hair and i read so many good reviews on Jena I decided to giver her a try. It was very convenient since she starts at 6am so I can get my hair done before I need to go into work. I went in the first time not knowing what I wanted and some how it turned out better than what I could have dreamed of. I recently went back to get highlights in to give my hair texture for an up-do for a wedding I was in, She listened to what I needed I gave me highlights that look natural, hide when I have my hair down, and makes my hair look amazing when its up. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have never done anything dramatic to my hair but in her hands I feel like anything she does will make me look amazing in the end. My next appointment is for a Keratin treatment to straighten out my frizzy hair. She gave me a lot of information on it, and gave me good advice whether I should do it or not because of my hair type. Recently my spouse and I had facials at Skin by Marywynn. What an amazing experience! We’ve both had lots of massages and spa treatments over the year but nothing, I repeat, nothing prepared us for this wonderful experience. Marywynn’s hands float over your face like a soft, gentle cloud bringing deep pleasure and a profound sense of relaxation. It’s hard to find the words to express what wonderful sensations Marywynn’s hands bring to your face. I kept falling into a deep sleep and surprised myself by waking up snoring with her hands on my face. I’ve never experienced anything as relaxing, reinvigorating and pleasurable in my life. My skin and that of my spouse glowed for days and felt fantastic. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. You’ve got to try it to believe it. Marywynn’s room is warm and welcoming and a comfortable space in the back of a hair salon.
