Where is the Best Singles Scene in Hartford, Connecticut?
Having grown up with a Polish grandmother cooking my polish-oriented cuisine, I had high expectations walking in the door. The atmosphere is kitchy, but very typical – large bar, wooden bench booths, super friendly Polish speaking staf. Most importantly, the food is fantastic. The pierogi (cabbage and potato), kielbasa, kapusta, and golumpki are all delicious and definitely homemade.Pros + Inexpensive
After reading the horrible review by a former user, my four friends and I set out to prove it wrong. We went out to eat at the Butterfly Room on Monday, March 31 2008. We went for lunch and overall had a GOOD experience! We felt the atmosphere both inside and out was nice. We were seated right away and all of out drinks came soon after. Two of my friends and I ordered water and it was refilled OFTEN. We never had to ask for refills. After odering our food, we waited only a short period of time. The food was decent and NONE of my three friends or I got sick in ANY way, shape or form!!! We had NO signs of any type of “food related illness”. I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere, we were seated next to the large aquarium which provided some entertainment, and felt the meal was acceptable. My friends all had similar reviews, even one who doesn’t usually like chinese food! Our only complaint was a weird overall smell in the room. It wasn’t a food-gone-bad kind of smell… more like a must
It was a relief finding this pub. Moving here from NYC a year ago and being a musician, I found it to be a hard transition. After all, NYC has the very best pubs. Murphy’s is the closest thing I have found so far to a NYC pub. Great happy hour, and good bands. The pizza was not exactly New Yorkish but ok. The tap beer was fresh and served fairly quickly. There is nothing worst then having to wait for a slow bartender. Thy seemed to be kinda on the ball. My wife and myself will be going there more often.
