Where is the Best Shoe Repair in Austin, Texas?
When I got an oil stain on a pair of nice boots, the main shoe repair chain in town told me flatly that they can’t do anything about oil stains. Fortunately I then remembered driving by Capitol Saddlery and decided to give them a call. They told me to bring my boots in immediately before the stain set, and they removed it and my boots are as good as new. Very friendly staff plus an atmosphere that can’t be beat! I only take my shoes to Sammie’s for repair. He’s honest, on time with repairs, and will sometimes do small jobs while you wait. I took my boots in for repair, and the price can’t be beat. My boots will live longer than I will after being repaired by him! Like the previous reviewer stated, if he can’t fix it, he will tell you so, and even recommend another repair service in Austin who can! Sammie’s is an Austin institution! He is located next to Music Mania in the Fiesta Shopping Center. He’s worth the drive from anywhere in Austin for his services.
What should have been an easy two day repair turned into a 2 week nightmare. I took the shoe to 183 in Cedar Park, but it really isn’t important, they all send them to a factory where a bunch of idiots sit trying to fix our shoes!The first time the shoe came back, it was not repaired- they couldn’t figure out how to fix it, even though the left side was still functional and they could copy it! The worst part was that the manager (Terri) said “this isn’t the first time these guys messed up on a shoe like this”. Why would you tell a customer that? She then told me she’d put a rush on it and have it there on Monday. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience, but she said no! Come on, a 10% discount would have been 80 cents and made me happy about the current situation, but no. I came back on Monday and the shoe was not there, the manager’s excuse was that she had no control after it left her store. My question is why did she promise to put a rush on it when she has no author
