Where is the Best Shiatsu Massage in Austin, Texas?
I went to try Myo because of the reviews, and I was pleased. I typically go to a day spa, but it has a high turnover rate due to its prices, and I get tired of always having to switch therapists. Myo was not what I was expecting. It does not aim for the posh, indulgent atmosphere of a day spa, which I kind of missed. Like they say, it is more of a bodywork center. There are no fancy locker rooms, etc., or people wandering all about in robes, like I am used to. You undress/change in the room where you receive the massage, before the therapist enters. One of the cool things, though, is the opportunity to select your own music during treatment. It may sound like a small thing, but I thought it was really neat, particuarly since ocean waves and new age music don’t really relax me. I had a 90 min. massage with Gina to address some tightness in my shoulder and knee from playing tennis. It was not a simple massage, but rather a very therapeutic form of treatment – she really focused
I like to come off as a guy who doesn’t care too much about his hair, but my wife and a few other people on this planet no better. Up until discovering David Tienda at Aziz (South location, on Brodie), I was a wanderer — each month searching for a new stylist whom I didn’t want to pop in the throat for f-ing up my locks. Let me tell you, I got around. David not only listens carefully and does what you tell him to do with your hair, he makes great suggestions based on your hair type, face shape, zodiac sign, social security number, what have you. He’s a wizard with the scissors and a seer with the shears. He’s a great conversationalist, too — able to wax eloquent and exhibit wit without losing focus on the quaff he’s cutting. He’s like a stylist ninja, with personality and humor. Seriously, the dude’s talented, and a good guy. Give him a shot — you won’t be sorry. Pros + Mr. T, no uppity staff, ample parking (huge plaza lot)Cons – nada
I was just at the salon for a wedding I was a attending for my cousin. The bride, her mother, mother of the groom, other cousins, maid of honor, matron of honor, bridesmaids and other family members were all here. There was whispering among us, bad past history, crys of sadness, crying of joy and the salon actually helped us keep an even keel. They were very zen if you would say. I felt tacky for the way I was acting and they created a very safe environment for me. They listened and then gave support and love for us all. Very strange experience for me. Not gossipy or belittleing. Just reminding us that family is all we have …….for better or worse. Forgive and comfort. Well, there was one typical stylist telling us of her drama and problems with boys. All about her, while she coughed up a lung. Well everyone did excellent bridal hair. I mean excellent. We had fits and bad comments about each other and the salon swooped in and got involved and “fixed” our issues. The
Jessica at Bella Salon saved my wedding last week! I live in Brooklyn and got married in Austin in late May 2009. I had heard great things about Jackson Ruiz and wanted them to do my hair for my wedding, which was at noon on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. During a trip to Austin in January, I went to the salon and scheduled an appoinment at 8 a.m. the day I was getting married. Initially, the staff was great–they were opening the salon early for me, given my noon wedding. About a week and a half before my wedding, I was calling all of my appointments to confirm the time, and the stylist who was scheduled to do my hair no longer worked there. No one had called me at all about this until I reached out to them first!!Over the next few days, I spoke with three different people at Jackson Ruiz, and each said that they would get back to me the next day if anyone would be interested in taking my appointment. I didn’t hear back from anyone at all until 3 days before my weddi
I am a yoga teacher and I need a massage every couple of weeks. I was looking for someone that I could hand myself to and “let go”. When I arrived at Zen Blend, I was impressed with the energy inside. I could feel myself beginning to relax and feel good already. I was there with two other friends and we where scheduled to float, get a massage and hang out in the Zen garden. I started off with the Zen garden, I drank some wonderful mint tea and dark chocolate. I lounge in the hammock and watched the birds and the clear blue sky. I am really glad I got to do my own thing before the massage and float. It gave me some time with myself and I was so relaxed, which aloud me to fully embrace my experience with a clear mind. Then it was my turn to have a hot stone massage. Yummy, that was one of the best massages I have ever received. Kristi has a sweet, powerful and loving nature. I truly felt the love she has for giving to others. After my massage, I was off to float. I was not s
