Where is the Best See and Be Seen Bar in Austin, Texas?

And it’s okay!” Well, somebody listened, to the first two, and that somebody, well, that somebody was actually two people: Randall and Donya. And they have total punk-rock credibility for transforming and empty cinder-block space into the best small club to see hard rock in Austin. Whenever I come to Ausitn for business I make sure to stop by Light Bar for an evening of fun. Downstairs is ultra modern with great music. The decor is amazing and it feels like you’re in New York or LA. Upstairs has an unbelievable view, with a laid back atmoshere. You can even catch a great live band. I went to Cedar Door with a large group of friends for a birthday. I’d been to Cedar Door a few years ago and was impressed by the wonderful service. Our server Nichole? was an absolute joy and was very helpful (definitely try the Mexican martinis). The bar was a little busy and crowded, but the atmosphere is great- very down to earth and fun, not at all pretentious like some places. The food was ok, but there are a lot more pro’s than con’s. I was in town for the Austin City Limits Festival. We were wandering downtown, and saw Fado’s and decided to give it a shot. It was ok, but I don’t think I would recommend it. I tried to order 3 different Irish beers, and each one got a blank starte from the waiter. We had to ask a few time for our water, and our water felt the need to tell us about how he was supposed to be at the ACL Festival, but had to work. The food was pretty good. Our napkins were damp from not being fully dried, and, while we were wating for our tab, we looked arounf and noticed how dirty the place was. But, the layout of the bar was cool, and it seemed like if there was a bit more effort put into the palce, it could be a rockin place to hang out, day or night.Pros + good locationCons – staff seems to not really care
I have been here many times because I have friends that work there. Overall it is not too bad. The drinks are decently priced and made. The layout of club is nice especially if you and some friends hang out in the lil upper VIP area or on the couches. Lil dance floor as well. The absolute worst part of this bar is the DJ. I have been nearly a dozen times and I swear I hear Michael Jackson, Criss Cross, Naughty by Nature, and all those other ppl I was ready to stop hearing from the 90s!! It drives me nuts and I predict it like clock work every time. Anywho, I have been told by staff that on Thursdays (which I have never been), they play much better music making the crowd much better as well.
