I think you were in the wrong spot, if you voted less than 5 stars. Yes, the bar opens at 9, but honestly who wants a hyped up scene right at 9. The reason why I love this bar so much, is because after work I can go to a happy hour with the team from work, and if a few of us want to go somewhere after happy hour, we’ll head over to Firehouse. It’s clean, it’s cozy, at 9 it’s not too loud, the bar staff is friendly and hot, and on a couple of occassions I’ve gone there alone. I don’t mind heading there alone, because I know the barstaff will keep me company until my friends get there, or I meet new ones. It’s an awesome place to be yourself at. Single, Married, Dating, Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Confused/Straight, it doesn’t matter. It’s a very mature 21+ bar, with a healthy, fun, and beautiful environment. Everyone I bring into Firehouse is always impressed with the bartenders, because they shake your hand, they greet you by name, and they don’t forget it, another reason why I like to arrive earl

I’ve been here for HH many times but never on a Friday and we never have sat at the bar until this Saturday. My girlfriend and I had dinner here this past Sat. before we went out for the evening and our experience was a “first class, five star” service. The really funny thing were the two bartenders making us laugh because they were joking with one of the guest about not getting them two confuse, one has hair and one doesn’t. The “no hair” guy greeted us and took our order. He went as far as placing napkins down for us. He just didn’t take our order and ran off to make drinks. He made sure we were comfortable and satisfied before he moved on. My comment was, “Wow! VIP treatment”! We both agreed! Both of them checked on us and “no hair” made us an “Asian Love” martini. That was the best drink I ever had made with champagne. As we were sitting there, one thing we both notice was that everyone comes over to this guy and he treats everyone of them with the same courtesy. We’ve b

Took a friend there Saturday night, half expecting the place to be awesome and disappointing at the same time. Perfectly tucked away on 8th street, you could pass by it without even noticing if you’re not looking closely. Once inside though, we were thoroughly satisfied!! The atmosphere was inviting, the crowd MATURE and well-dressed, the music loud enough to hear, but not deafening. Our bartender, John, was perfect from the greeting upon reaching the bar til we closed out our tab. We tried the Manhattan, the Pomengrate Martini (perfectly yummy with a sugar-rimmed glass), and the Mango Martini. All of them were delicious!! I noticed some reviews complaining about high prices, but I have no complaints. I’ve lived in way bigger cities than Austin and have become accustomed to spending upwards of 10 or 12 bucks a drink and the Brown Bar prices are lower than that, so I don’t know, maybe it’s just me….I will definitely return!!Pros + Awesome martinis, great bartenders, mature crowdC

The bands are usually very good. Dance space is limited and they have tables on the dance floor. Also, when bands like Suede play people fill the dance floor and just watch.. People, this is a COVER BAND.. let the people who want to dance use the dance floor. I would like to see management control this more. All it takes is an announcement that the floor is for dancing, you can watch from anywhere. Another complaint is with the smoking in the bar area. I realize they somehow have special permission to allow smoking, but you really need to ban CIGARS from the area since you spent all the money on having a CIGAR ROOM to smoke in. There is nothing more offensive than a Ahnold Schwartzennegar wannabe pretending to smoke his cheap stogie in a crowded room. Lastly, the bartenders can be slow. It’s not uncommon for them to be chatting amongst themselves when there is a line 3 deep at the bar waiting for service. If they address these three issues, its a great place for the 30 to 55 crowd..

Molotov is bar far my favorite bar to go to when out-of-town friends are visiting Austin. It?s located on West Sixth and the rooftop is the perfect place to grab a drink, a table and have a great time. I like it here so much because you can actually sit with friends and hear what they are saying. By no means should you take this as Molotov being dull, it?s the opposite. If you?re looking for the perfect balance between music, people and conversation, Molotov Lounge is where it?s at. The bartenders are also some of the best in town as well!Pros + Rooftop bar, atmosphere, bartenders
