Where is the Best Seafood in Salt Lake City, Utah?
Our family eats out every Saturday and are tired of the same old – same old. We were excited when we thought we had discovered our next favorite place. Not to be. All of our meat was splendid, from chicken parmessan, ribs, prime, sirloin and even crab, we found them all to be done great. The salad, though a good blend of greens was warm and limp not cool and crisp. I wasn’t so surprised at the salads though when I found out the owners have previous experience at McGrath’s Fish House (their salads are very poor also). The rolls, not homemade, nor freshbaked. The rice pilaf was not a very good blend, and the twice baked potatoes, though edible, were dry and had probably been prepared early in the evening and were bland. The ice cream shake was good, as was the fruit smoothy and the sampling of cheese cake and chocolate mousse cake were commendable. We had an exceptional server who made us feel very comfortable. She was very attentive and did a splendid job. She represented the
This review is for the Sandy location:For lunch, I had the Cajun Shrimp Fettucine special for $5.99. It came with delicious sour dough bread and a large side salad that had tomato, carrots, cucumbers, and cabbage in addition to the lettuce. The fettucine was cooked just right (al dente). The sauce was a creamy and pink and not too heavy. The sauce had a nice, but not overwhelming, hint of fresh garlic and other spices. The shrimp and mushrooms were pleantiful. There was no skimping on ingredients. The portion was hearty. My server was attentive and likeable. There was no wait to be seated. McGrath’s reminds me of my many visits to Seattle and the Northwest. Neat atmosphere.Pros + Vast Menu, Delicious Bread, Hearty PortionsCons – A Bit Pricey, -, –
We’ve been members for over 18 years, but will not patronize any of the Gastronomy restaurants until some major changes happen. They’ve gone coporate in a huge way. While the Oyster Bar was never a bargain basement eatery, the portions were fair, preparation was wonderful if straightforward, and service was superb. We recently dined there and I ordered the line-caught Atlantic salmon filet. What arrived bore no resemblance to a filet. It was a skinny tail piece that was curled up it was so overdone. When the waiter finally returned to query, ” How’s everything tasting?” I pointed out that the fish on my plate was overcooked and not a filet. “Right! I kinda wondered about that when I brought it out!” H-m-m-m! I THOUGHT the server’s job was to see that the item ordered was the item served. Anyhoo, he quickly brought another piece of salmon. This WAS a filet, but about a 3 oz. portion. It was perfectly cooked, but at $23.99, a total rip-off. Other changes include daily speci
I am a Frequent Traveler who loves sushi. I have been to what are regarded as the best on both coasts. Masa in NY, Makoto in DC, Sushi Taro in DC, Nobu in NY and Las Vegas, Sushi Ota in San Diego, Urasawa in Los Angeles, and literally hundreds more. Every City I go to I want to sample their wares. I have been eating Takashi’s sushi for years now, between Shogun and now Takashi. It is still by a long distance the best sushi I have ever tasted. If Masa in NY is second best in my book it would be a 8.8 out of 10 Takashi would easily be a 9.6 out of 10. Near Flawless. If you haven’t been here go. Now. Dont listen to anyone. It is just a reasonably priced as anywhere in town and in many cases less expensive. The only Flaw may be one sushi chef who is a little loose in his rolling. Maybe on some days the service is a little slow but the food is to perfection. Make sure to eat the BOX and the Nigiri Torched Sable Fish .Pros + Everything Try a little of everything. The BOX, Spicy mussels,
