Where is the Best Seafood in Portland, Oregon?

We visited the Fishwife for lunch today. Nothing fancy here, just cleanly prepared seafood, crinkle-cut fries that were obviously cooked in fresh oil, and some nice sides – – we tried the cole slaw and it was quite good. We opted for grilled cod and grilled oysters; both were cooked in butter but were not drowned in it, and both were just right – – cooked but not overdone. Bottled beer prices are reasonable – – in fact, ALL the prices are very reasonable. About the only fancy touch was the incongruous white cloth napkin, since the basic atmosphere is more or less diner, but it is clean and comfortable, and we were knocked out by how friendly everyone on the staff was. We’ll be back for dinner and are looking forward to trying out the chowders.Pros + good fresh seafood that’s not cooked to death, highly affordableCons – not for those nights when you’re looking for elegance

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! if you like real thai food, you should try this restaurant. It’s a little hard to find, but that’s where the good food is. I’ve been going to this restaurant for atleast 3 times a week, good service, good food, and everything else. If you don’t believe me, that’s fine, try it yourself :)- – – – – – – – – – – *****add – 06/30/06more than a year that i’ve been to this restaurant, most of the things i see are improvement.. new food, friendly service, taste… just a great restaurant. I know sometimes they got a busy hour peak.. service might be a bit lousy, but they’re still trying to serves you as best as they could, i can feel it. For this kind of services, and the taste of food, i wouldn’t mind to find the restaurant

Still mourning the loss of Taqueria Nueve, I recently ventured into the new restaurant that took over its space. They serve New Orleans cuisine and it is damn good! Hooray! The plates (well, not exactly plates) are small (tapas style) and the food is served in big old coffee mugs. I know it sounds kind of weird, but they make it work. Everything I tried sang in my mouth. We had the jambalaya (with chicken, shrimp and sausage), the hanger steak (served with carmelized portobello fries) and the bibb lettuce salad (served with smoked tomatoes and a bacon vinagrette). Oh and because the plates were small enough and I wasn’t quite stuffed yet, the sweet potato/pecan pie (served with bourbon ice cream) for dessert. Lord have mercy, that food was good! So, although I will forever miss my octopus cocktail from TN, I’m not going to be sad anymore because a new food day has dawned with the opening of New Orleans inspired Tapalaya. Let the good times roll!BTW, since I first went, I’ve
