Where is the Best Seafood in Minneapolis, Minnesota?

We recently discovered Stella’s this summer, while driving through the neighborhood. We went on a night where they offered a Crab special. Overall, our experience was very good. We started by going to the rooftop, in hopes of enjoying a drink while we waited for our table. This was a mistake. It was overcrowded, and it took a very long time for us to make our way to the bar and get a drink. Once we did, I felt like a pinball being bounced around through the crowd of people. The idea is good, but it would be better if they accepted rooftop reservations, and limited the amount of people that were allowed up there at one time. The dining experience was very good. My wife enjoyed the crab (an all-you-can-eat special may have been a better offering, but wasn’t an option) and I had a very tasty Jambalaya. I was impressed with the variety of food offered for a seafood restaurant. This was a nice change. The service was good, and the atmosphere was very nice. It was also very reas

Four of us went for a Christmas season dinner to enjoy some conversation and good seafood. This was our third visit to M & S, and we were quite happy with almost everything. The best thing on the table was the beet salad – a phenomenal salad, closely followed by a awesome bowl of clam chowder, and the scallop/risotto appetizer. Entrees we shared were the 1 1/4 # lobster – cooked just right, and the lobster/filet combo plate – both were just right, the filet melted in yor mouth. The stuffed salmon selection was simply wonderful. The least satisfying entre was the proscuitto-wrapped scallop dish. The sauce was nice and spicy as advertized, but the prosciutto and sauce were too salty and overpowered the flavor of the scallops – bummer. Our waiter was great, he recommended a nice bottle of wine, and the desserts were good but not exceptional. We’ll be back, and can recommend M&S to friends and other diners looking for good seafood downtown Minneapolis. Did I mention the $2 appe

The food is decent but not spectacular. The wait is very long, the decor is tasteless and gaudy, the wait staff is too busy dancing to provide good service, and this is without a doubt the loudest palce I have ever been to. The music is so loud that you can’t have a conversation with a person sitting right next to you.Pros + FoodCons – Service, Noisy, Decoration

I’ve always had breaded walleye so I tried their grilled and I loved it. For walleye veterans maybe Tavern on Grand is no big deal, however for those of us who get to have it only once or twice a year, you need to visit Tavern on Grand! Parking is not easy during prime time, however you can find a spot by circling the block or parking on a side street. We waited at the bar and good selection of brews on tap. Nice old tavern setting. Watched the Wolves game while waiting. Once we sat down we ordered and were served promptly and courteously.Bread is soft and tasty. Good veggie side dish ofbroccoli-carrot combo. Baked potato good. I’ll go again and/or take others there.Pros + walleye, bread, serviceCons – parking, large parties

Barley John’s is interesting in beer and food. The outdoor area is a fun place to sit in the summers and whatnot. For that we love the place. The only downfall is that the service, while very friendly, can be slow and ditzy. It’s a very small place and even if you’re one of the few people in the restaurant expect your service to be very slow and expect that they will forget things like the glass of water you requested. They are not at all attentive to their customers who are not at the bar unfortunately. But none of it has ever been in bad spirit. The time to talk and the food and wine keep us coming back when we have the time to sit. But skip it if you’re in a hurry. Oh – and Great pizza! Gourmet pizza officiandos will love their pie!Pros + Great food, Great beer, Great wineCons – Flaky servers
