Where is the Best Seafood in Denver, Colorado?
Large Group – don’t, with reservations, they could not find enough seats and were seated over a half an hour late and still 2 seats short. 2 of our group lunch shared a table with 2 kind gentlemen whose table was given to another party while they were in line for the buffet. The food was fine in the brunch buffet but don’t leave the table unattended because you may lose it. They didn’t do well with the orders either, the 2 guys whos table was lost was but on our parties check and had to wait over 20 minutes for that correction. For the price, being seated so late, there was not much on the buffet so you got to wait in long lines there too. If I ever go again, follow these rules no party over 4, go early and leave somone at the table at all times. Pros + BuffetCons – Organization, Service, Price
oysters were awesome;fresh excellent selection and fairly priced. main entree was a little too spicy but palatable and tasty. I liked their house wine double chardonnay and the desert was delicious.in the end the staff makes this place; they were friendly, offered good meal suggestions. our waiter jeff was timely in service, made excellent meal suggestions and everyone was cool. thanks Pros + service, food, wine , staffCons – parking
My husband and I enjoy trying a variety of favorites at Chinook Tavern although weekend visits are especially wonderful with great food and live romantic guitar music. However, I am writing this review because on our most recent visit, we treated ourselves to a special Italian Winemakers Dinner that we found to be spectacular. My favorites on the Five Course menu were the Sushi-Grade Tuna Tartare appetizer, the Chateau Beef Sirloin for my entree. I especially liked this dish, it was topped Summer Truffle Butter giving it a delicate touch. And the very unique fresh berries that were served with a scotch vanilla sauce with fresh cracked pepper. I feel the dishes were a wonderful compliment to the wines that were served. Kudos to the waiter for doing such a professional and timely job with this large group. Lastly and most importanly 5 courses and 5 wines for $75…..what a bargain!!!! Can’t wait till the next one We love this place.Pros + Beautiful art and decor ~ off-street
I enjoyed Joe’s crab shack, decent food & entertainment. However, it has changed in the short space of time since I moved to Colorado. We were quite impressed during our first visit when during our meal, the wait staff broke out with an off off broadway performance- but decent! Now, they perform if you ask and out of sync or perhaps they just don’t seem to know the routine. In addition, here’s the worst part, debit card holders beware! Twice, i have had debit charges come out of my bank account up to 6 weeks after my visit! The charges pend, drop off and then reappear weeks later to debit your account. The first time it happened I spoke with the Manager, who said they had been having problems with customers complaining about it, blamed it on Corporate, and just apologized. The second time was the charm, and I don’t plan to go there again.
Its true, the menu is written in both vn and english.. Very explainatory, unless you are very dull in the head. I don’t read a word of vn, but i understood ‘tofu and vegetables stir-fried in yellow curry,’ very well, thank you.. The service is absolutely perfect. I honestly have never seen a man empty a pitcher of water into the patron’s glasses that quickly in my life.. no really, my girlfriend and I stopped and watched the lightning speed bustle for a while in awe, long after we finished our DELiCiOUS and HIGHLY AFFORDABLE meals. I heard somewhere that they actually own the building no strings attached, so everything is very affordable, despite the extremely high quality of preparation. Consistant. It never changes, you know exactly what you will get. Im sure they could easily charge arm and leg if they ever wanted to move downtown, but they got a good thing going.. why mess with it?
