Where is the Best Sandwich in Detroit, Michigan?
Wheat and Rye is best known locally for its stacked meat sandwiches. They’re what make it more than another slightly-better-than-average neighborhood bar. Tender sliced roast beef piled high, served with onions and horseradish makes for a sandwich the equal of any area deli’s, and then some. The quantity doesn’t come at the expense of quality- this is good stuff. The service is prompt and competant.
What i get is pretty good stuff. It’s fresh, moderate prices and very filling. in march, i think, they opened one near where i live. The wraps are huge and filling. The Tacos & salsa is fair. but i only eat half of the wrap (had it twice for a change from tacos) and take the other half home. One thing great about this place is if you do not finish your wrap there, you can always take it home. pretty good stuff.
Got the certificate from restaurants . com & tried it. It was ok, but the check out was confusing- just kind of catering with nice twist. But son got a burger & we all’ve been loughing about it… He got the best thing :)Nice Hala roll + grat meat inside… We all tried it next time, it was still very good.Pros + best burger, all food was goodCons – check out was confusing
ushy and greasy, with a thick, cold off-green paste, Albans famous spinach pie was awful. Main dishes ranged from disappointing to appalling; the worst offender being the veg pasta. This disaster was: overcooked, cold, soaking wet pasta, limp dill-flavored squash and carrots, and a huge mound of cold sauce with a disturbing texture and appearance, and markedly unpleasant taste. Our waitress, despite being otherwise attentive, was oblivious to the fact that the food was inedible.Pros + Squandered locationCons – Disgusting, inedible, Hot food served cold
