Where is the Best Salad in San Francisco, California?
I’ve been here three times, and each time the food was great overall. It was extremely busy at night, and we got seated in the back next to the bathrooms… it’s a little more private, but also… next to the bathrooms. The hard tacos were a bit of a let down; I like the ones that I make at home better (the “cheeze” on them was just plain cold tofu… boo). The ravioli in creamy tomato sauce is absolutely delicious. The mac and cheeze didn’t taste like I was expecting it to, but it was still really good. The donuts are great. The lasagna was alright, not great, but not bad… a little on the dry side. The bbq soy “chicken” sandwhich is AMAZING! It comes with a salad and potatoes, which are also good. I’ve gotten it twice, and I’d probably eat it every day if I could. Vegetable sampler was okay/good… one of the sauces was pretty nasty, I don’t remember any of us wanting to finish it, but the other two were good. Linguine primevera with creamy tomato was sauce was decent, but not great
The food is still great here – always just right in my experience (the other reviews say it all), – but as difficult is it for me to say about one of my favorite places in San Francisco….and I like atmosphere as much as the next person, but wake up proprietors, the place is a dump! The walls haven’t seen a paint job in 10 +,years the floors are almost black with ground-in grime and all the furniture and mouldings are chipped and banged and scuffed to within an inch of their lives. If f you sit too near the dish-room in the rear half of the main dining room, it smells like fermenting dishwater. (under the black perforated floor mats) We asked to be moved because of the smell (there were plenty of open tables) – the host was most annoyed – he, by the way, gave us attitude from the moment we walked in. Time for a little routine maintenance and some attention to staff attitudes. Just a paint-job alone would do wonders. But from the owners point of view, the place is packed most eve
With so many places in SF to eat at, very few can be a memorable experience..First Crush is not one of them. I am now a fan of this place! Although it was just me, table for one, I was treated like a VIP. Seriously, I was greeted and seated from the moment I walked in, catered to without having to famously ?flag ? my server down, and yet, with all of the attention, I was still able to relax peacefully and enjoy my flight of wine. The food was excellent and my chocolate dessert was very rich and sinful..I Couldn’t have chosen a better spot for my quiet dinner alone.
When my friends and I used to work out, we would come straight here after. Why? cause we knew the food was good and the portions were big! Not once have i been disappointed, the service is friendly and full of smiles and their food is quite yum! I mean its not out of this world or anything but it does always gives me the memory of thanksgiving. Their salads are also fresh and crisp. I always get the stuffing…but i think its cause i just love stuffing in general hahaha. Welps if your looking for some deli sh comfort food or jus want a nice salad this is the place! I think it would be a bit more fun if they played space movies or star trek or something. I dont know maybe it could add to the whole “plutos” theme.
