Where is the Best Salad in San Francisco, California?
This has got to be the best food I have ever had in my life! Great prices too! I live in Sacramento CA and I have never felt like I needed to drive 2 hours just to eat somewhere and Asqew Grill makes me CRAVE their food. Everything is grilled so while it is super tasy ,it is super healthy as well. After eating their food you don’t feel bogged down and gross. I highly recomend the artichoke starter. It has a sauce I believe called soy beurre blanc…that is absolutely to die for. The sauce is an absolute explosion of flavors in your mouth. I get the artichoke all to myself along with a skewer platter…and I won’t share….thats how good it is:-) I have pretty much had every thing on the menu as far as the skewers go and I have yet to be disappointed. My favorite is the grilled ahi tuna. The best salad in my opinion is the grilled pear, yum, yum!I have only been to the one location on the marina. I wish they would build an Asqew in or near Sacramento…Anyways you must try this place!
We stopped into Chow on a Monday night at around 530pm, on a pre-concert excursion to the City. We were seated immediately. We weren’t sure who the wait staff actually was, but the bar keep offered to take our order. The food came quickly. The mussels were excellent, fresh and tasty with lots of sauce for dipping fresh bread. Our Thai Chicken Salad was tasty, crisp and very fresh and colorful. We were in and out of Chow in about 40 minutes which was great because we had a time limit. We had 4 small dishes, 2 shorty beers and the tab was under $40 (sans the tip). After reading mixed reviews on this site about the food and service we were at first hesitant about Chow. We had a really great experience! It was just the right amount of food and very fresh. We will definitely go back!Pros + Fresh food, casual, small plates/good valueCons – Parking
I’m not sure where all the complaints about the service are coming from. You don’t go to Pluto’s to be swept off your feet – it’s cafeteria-style, after all. I think if you’re clear with the people behind the counter they will accomodate your requests – but you have to be able to jive with the fast pace and sometimes hectic atmosphere to get your request across quickly and loudly.Pluto’s is a great place to go to get a customized big salad, an offbeat and delicious sandwich, and possibly a side dish or two. It’s not a place to take a first date or to expect to be pampered. If you want to skip the huge line in peak hours, phone in your order. Due to the nature of cafeteria-style ordering, you can jump the line and go right to the register, even if you plan to eat there.
