Where is the Best Salad in Salt Lake City, Utah?
For years, I have had a serious addiction to Cafe Rio. I started out eating burritos, then switched to salads and then to their magically delicious pork tacos. The salad is the best salad I have ever had, because it’s more like an open-face burrito, with beans, rice, meat, lettuce, pico de gallo, chips, and guacamole all piled on top of a homemade tortilla that has been grilled with melted cheese. Their pork tacos are fantastic! I don’t know what they marinade the meat in, but they taste more like candy than pork. They come in servings of one or two but I could eat them non-stop, if only I wouldn’t get full! And the best part about Cafe Rio is that, with very reasonable prices, you can go back for a meal their day after day after day! This is one of my most favorite restaurants of all time.Pros + fast service, delicious food, inexpensiveCons – long lines, crowded
Sweet Tomatoes is a great place to go if you want tasty and healthy- a difficult combination to find these days. The salad bar is great as are the baked goods, potatos and soups — the pasta isn’t to hot but we can forgive that upon biting into fresh hot sourdough bread. This is also a good place for families – lots of room to spread out and so many choices that even your pickyest kid will find some thing yummy. This is not a place for a date however as the atmosphere is very “cafeteria like” and noisy.Pros + inexpensive, varietyCons – noisy
Our friends took us to this restaurant over the weekend and I have never tasted anything so spectacular in my life. I was a long time Cafe Rio fan, but never again. The food was served fast, and hot! And was delicious. I had their chimichunga with burro sauce and lettuce and tomatoes on the side. The portion was enormous and I feel I got what I paid for and more. The service was friendly and the man and the register very funny! He even thanked us as we left (very sincerely) which I thought was wonderful and very personable. Such a nice relaxing place to eat. I didn’t feel rushed to eat, even though the place was full. I also didn’t feel overrun by other guests, the booth we sat in had a high back so I felt very intimate with my other guests. There were tv’s on, but they were not blaring sound, something I despise at restaurants. I am sad that a location isn’t in Utah County – PLEASE COME DOWN HERE SOON! I agree with another reviewer in that Pistol Pete’s should take the place of
I really like cucina. Food is for the most part always delightful. The iced tea is some of the best. The location. The perfect Patio. The only thing is the moody owner, who probably gives all the cute girls there a hard time or maybe he comes off as being too flirty. Nice loafers btw. He is eternally golfing ( or looks like it ) My biggest complaint is there is no tip line on the credit receipt slip. I have asked the owner about it before and his arrogant response was that , if i wanted to tip i could just tell him before hand. What a joke. Those girls deserve to be tipped, they have to deal with him and half the yuppies that come in there. GO AVENUES. HAPros + great food, atmosphere, location, lovely staffCons – funny manager, a little pricey.
