Where is the Best Salad in Portland, Oregon?
Id like to share an experience my wife and I had last night. We were invited us to Voleur for an evening of fine dining and magic! There has been a lot of talk about this amazing magic Dinner Show here and their various degrees of success. What we witnessed and experienced tonight was by far one of the most pleasurable events of our time together. The ambience of the restaurant (Voleur, in a turn of the century building at First & Ash), is quite compelling. A small venue seats 60 plus patrons with great sight lines. They offer a set menu 5 course meal with the choice of three entrees. I wont go into all the details, but combined with the Champaign, the gentle jazz guitarist and impeccable service, it was well worth the $90.00. When you add the magic of Mclintock, it’s an entertainment bargain thats hard to pass up.He has put together a wonderful 45 minute act combining his natural touch and out of the box thinking, to very basic magic. It is uniquely Reed! Hes introduced his costu
This place has the best of both worlds. Lots of traditional flavors, like their amazing fish tacos, red chile enchiladas, and pico salsa. As for Nuevo Latino, Mark Lopez the owner of Baja Grill worked for the Great Chile Guru Mark Miller himself. My personal favorite is the Grilled Chicken Burrito. While it sounds ordinary I assure you their lack of creativity naming this masterpiece was all saved up for the actual culinary talent that created such an incredible burrito. Inside the burrito they use citrus marinated grilled chicken, black beans in a chipotle bbq sauce, cilantro lime pesto rice, pico salsa, plus cheddar and jack cheese.I am tired of the bland chain Fresh-Mex type places and the so-so plates full of slop covered with cheese that most Mexican restaurants in Portland offer. If you are ever downtown during lunch hour this is THE place to eat!Pros + Locally Owned, They Cater too!, Best Salsa Bar aroundCons – Open Lunch only M-F, Street parking , Only 1 loca
I have been to 3 different Pizzicato locations. The menu and selection is sort of snobbish for the quality that you get. The service at lunch time is rude, they don’t bring drinks to your table, they direct you to go get napkins, plates, etc. for yourself if you ask. They are never very busy at that time so it seems unreasonable. Their prices are high and their pizza is SWIMMING in grease. By the slice is ok, but still not great. They’re not even as good as Pizza Schmizza and they charge more. Stuck up restaurant that’s not worth being so.Cons – service, bad food repeatedly, value
