Where is the Best Salad in Nashville, Tennessee?
I left Nashville about a year ago after spending 4 years there — and having had many lunches/dinners/snacks at Calypso Cafe. I still miss the black bean dip (so so delicious, and a meal in itself), the Martinique Callaloo, the bean and corn salad, and the sweet potaotes. A delicious, flavorful, healthy, cheap, friendly dining option! Nashville is lucky to have this place!
Germantown Cafe is one of my favorite places in Nashville. Their Sunday brunch is such a special treat. The meal starts with their amazing bread that is dusted in cinnamon and sugar. Their fritatas are amazing, their french toast melts in your mouth, and the shrimp grits are insult-your-momma good! I love their pepper-jack grits that come on the side of most dishes for brunch. The last time I was there I had the crab cakes benedict with pepper-jack grits. The eggs were poached to perfection and the yolk was runny and yummy! I have also visited Germantown for lunch. I had the open faced chicken salad sandwich. After trying countless places for their chicken salad (most of them being too bland), Germantown did it right. The pecan honey glaze and fresh fruit make an ordinary lunch item, an extraordinary lunch item. I cannot wait to try out their dinner menu as I hear wonderful things about it. The service is AMAZING! Often the food arriving quickly. The wait staff is incredib
Brought my girlfriend here on a busy saturday night last week…we must’ve come in at the perfect time because we sat at the bar and then after us a crew of like 50 regulars rolled in. it was pretty awesome with everybody joking and talking and sharing wine and drinks with everybody else (even us!). saffire must have a monopoly on fun for a restaurant bar. the restaurant floor filled up too, and there was a jazz band playing. they were pretty good, though no singer–just instrumental. liked the music, food was great, atmosphere was awesome, and our service was fantastic. highly recommend it for a good time and good foodPros + food, atmosphere, service, BARCons – crowded bar on busy nights
Four years in Nashville as a Vanderbilt student meant a lot of trips to GHG — for birthdays, after a movie, when visitors came to town, or any other time I wanted a diverse offering of delicious dinners. The variety was great, each dish (and I tried a good portion of the menu!) well-prepared, the staff friendly, and the call-ahead policy a life-saver on busy weekends. I would encourage anyone in Nashville, native or not, to visit this great restaurant!
