Where is the Best Salad in Boston, Massachusetts?
Though not a big fan of the actual dining room, I think the bar area dining next to the fireplace and private dining rooms are great! Went here a few weeks ago with my family and 8 great friends. We booked one of the private rooms (with fireplace) on the 2nd floor and were treated to a fun and charming dinner setting. Some candles would have been nice (they said they were all being used), but great appetizers that pleased the whole crowd and good entree portions and plenty of wine, it was a great place to host a large party. My sea bass was excellent by the way, however if you’re looking for “fine”/exquisite dining, this isn’t the place, though the food is still pretty good. And the prices are not staggering either, so it isn’t too hard on the wallet. Definitely good value, it offers a bit of ambience and intimacy that harvard square should be known for. I have never eaten here during warm weather on the gorgeous patio, but look forward to when spring comes again.Pros + Great
I’ve been eating at Joe’s for years, because it really varies its lunch/dinner menu well enough to keep me coming back while keeping my favorites on. Example: french onion soup and burger au poivre. The soup is deep and rich and the cheese is crusted as it should be. The fully pepper crusted patty is one of my favorites in the city and the meat is juicy through and through. I get this almost every time. Whenever there is an issue, and Ive had instances where something went, wrong, management was quick to act, and the meal was comp’ed. Good food, good service, cant go wrong with that. Pros + Consistent american fareCons – spotty service
This used to be my absolute favorite place to eat at every occasion…until a group of 10 of us came in for a friends b-day dinner. We are all in our mid 20’s and were treated like crap by our server…She was mad that she had to “take us” little to her knowledge we were alllll Bartenders/Servers at the time…You lost out on a 50% tip. Never going back…ruined by friends b-day dinner
Sidney’s Grille is an oasis of affordable elegance in the midst of Central Square. Located at MIT?s University Park in the upscale Le Meridien hotel, the restaurant features innovative new American cuisine. With its ultra-modern decor, high ceilings and beautiful bar with marble counter tops, Sidney’s immediately makes diners feel pampered. And then there?s the delightful and well-presented dishes. Appetizers like the three-cod New England clam chowder and the seared sea scallops with lemon thyme sparkle. Favorite main courses include the mouth watering striped sea bass with sweet corn and leek ragout; the sesame crusted ahi tuna with gingered sweet potato; and Sidney?s strip steak with roasted garlic. A little off the beaten path, Sidney’s Grille is truly a hidden gem that is one of the best kept secrets in Cambridge.
I’ve been here twice now. Once with three others, and once in a large group of about 12. Both times the food was great. The drink selection is good too. They offer a few beers that I haven’t seen anywhere else.My only issue with this place is that both times I’ve gone, the waitstaff seems to be overwhelmed and very short with my group. I love to eat out, am a generous tipper, and am by no means a picky eater. Not sure if it was just the day or the person, but at a small place with a cool atmosphere I expected people to be a bit more friendly.I’ll definitely go back, if nothing else for the food (the hangar steak is YUMMY). And still have to try the outdoor patio!Pros + modern decor, outdoor patio, good food, easy parkingCons – small(ish), can get crowded with the after work crowd
