Where is the Best Salad in Atlanta, Georgia?
This was our first visit back to The Blue Ridge Grill in several years. As to why, we are still trying to figure it out. This is one special dining destination, that is charming and unique. It’s a Ralph Lauren mountain lodge, with a cozy fireplace, and loaded with pure elegant Southern Charm. The menu is still somewhat rustic-southern-and gourmet, all at once. We split an app. of Iron Skillet Mussels. If you like Mussels, you will love them here. I had to get the Fried Oyster Salad, with a terrific made-in-house Ranch. My companion, ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad. We could have made a full course out of the app. and salads, with the wonderful bread. But with the great wine pairings our very nice server suggested, we were ready for the main event. I had the Horseradish Crusted Grouper w/Fennel and a Grapefruit Butter Sauce. I’ve never had sauce that unique, to drown each bite of Grouper in, terrific. My partner had the best Grilled Wild Scottich Salmon w/Artichoke Relish,
I had heard from friends that Olive Bistro at Ponce had great food, but had no idea that the sandwich and salad selection would be so varied. My first visit was with friends and they all had a wide selection of very tasty, fresh appetizers and wine. I opted for a sandwich and a greek salad, and that was so much food. The sandwich I had was the eggplant, and it was so good. I love eggplant and they do it right. The feta on the greek was very fresh and smooth. You could tell it was very good quality. I loved the greek dressing. They make it from scratch and I bought some to go. I used it at home all week and it was as fresh on the last day as the first. Great olive oil. Next time I had the antipasto salad and what a meal. It is so generous and all of the ingredients from the artichokes to the salami were so very fresh. Again, I went for the greek dressing.I also tried the hummus and olive tapenade before the salad with my husband and we loved it all. I took home more greek dressing. I now
After years of living in Buckhead, my husband & I have now settled in Sandy Springs and we are trying to replace our casual, regular eating spots with some nearer to home. We were so happy after trying F2O this weekend on Roswell. This is our new replacement for old standards like Eatzis and Wolfgang Puck. The salad was loaded with toppings, not just lettuce, and with the chicken skewers added on it made a good size meal. The pork sandwich was warm and the flavors of the carmelized onions and sweet potato sauce made for a very unique, upscale taste. And they even have a roughly 8-bottle wine selection! Skip the grit cake – it was well made, but a bit thick and bland. This is just the spot we’ve been missing in Sandy Springs. I can’t wait until the weather is warm and we can eat salads on the patio, then head accross the street to Brewsters for a scoop of ice cream. We’ll have to try it for brunch some time too.Pros + Light, different food. Cheap. Wine & beer. Patio.Con
First Fila copied Prada. Then everybody rapping had to be named ?Young? this or ?Lil? that. Now even fast-food spots (um hmm, Arby?s) are hopping on the imitation bandwagon and trying to steal Houston?s vaunted sandwich: the French Dip Au Jus! Stop it, please! Okay sorry. I had to get that out of the way. But the French Dip Au Jus isn?t the only thing worth attempting to duplicate at Houston?s Restaurant. Their Hawaiian prime-rib steak is sure to satisfy the most cynical food critic, while the quality of food (i.e freshness, hot food, sanitary plates, and silverware) and overall ambiance is off the chart! Gents, it?s not a formal occasion but at the same time you can?t wear your baseball caps or look like you?re MTV on wheels! While Houston?s isn?t designed for the most opulent patron, it isn?t necessarily for the fast-food budget crowd as well. But with acute attention from your waiter/waitress coupled with a dimly lit eating area, Houston?s is a perfect marri
