Where is the Best Salad in Atlanta, Georgia?
Took the kids and wife to the new location. Holy Cow! Night and day from the old place. There must be 70 more seats. We ordered a Greek Salad, Margarita pizza and finished with some Gelato. Very, very good. Easily one of the best in Atlanta. The salads are always huge and the gelato was a big thumbs up from our daughters. As one poster commented, they don’t have a liquor license yet. The girl behind the counter said they’ll have it by the end of next month. That didn’t seem to affect the crowd. It was full. Lots of children but also a bunch of couples. Parking could be better. It got pretty crowded in the lot but we parked downstairs and walked up the backside of the building. It was actually more convenient than parking in the front. The neighborhood finally has the place it has waited for.
This place wasn’t bad. Parking is not that great. I saw a guy completely chunk his car in the parking lot as my girlfriend and I were pulling in, so basically just watch out. The one thing that stinks about this place the counter is facing the door, so if it is busy you might have to wait outside a bit before putting in your order. Other than that this place is nice. It has a nice outside eating area. The pizza is not ridiculously great or anything, but I would eat there again. The ingredients are fresh, and the slices are pretty big. The price for the pizza is definitely fair. I wouldn’t compare this to New York pizza because basically I have never had New York pizza. I do recommend the Fellini’s Special because it is loaded with toppings. The people were nice, and it took about 10 minutes to get our pizza, which is great. Anyone who complains about this place is looking too much in to a simple pizza place. They do not advertise themselves as the “only place to buy real pizza.” It is
I have been to Oughtabee’s many times and will continue to dine here for the food, service and atmosphere. The food is delicious and unique and the servers are courteous and helpful. I had an opportunity to thank the executive chef for the consistently excellent service my friends, family and I have received and I was not disappointed; he is a consummate professional who truly cares for this restaurant which is evident judging from the final product. I would definitely recommend Oughtabee’s to anyone.Pros + Food, Service, Decor
The prices are amazing (especially on spices! wow!), the produce is incredibly fresh, and you can find just about any unprocessed food you could want. But beware the stench. “Fish and bleach” is exactly the conclusion my husband and I came to and every time I return home from this place, he sarcastically sniffs my hair and says, “Ahhh… eau de Dekalb Farmer’s Market!” The smell gets in your clothes and hair if you spend more than a few minutes inside. The produce and grains are located sufficiently far enough away from the seafood department that they don’t seem to be affected, but steer clear of the breads and in-house-packaged cheeses. We buy all our coffee there and haven’t experienced a fishy cup yet. On the contrary, their coffee is delish! And they even sell green beans for the DIY-er.They also have an incredible wine selection at prices far below what you will find anywhere else.
