Where is the Best Romantic Hotel in Portland, Oregon?

I’ve stayed here five times and every visit has been truly outstanding. The stately property drips 1940’s Hollywood glamour without being fruity or campy. It has a natural regal quality which is wonderful! What I love about Portland is that for a small city, it certainly has a plethora of wonderful accommodations. And as much as I love many of the property, I believe the Hotel Deluxe to be the best.Valet, Housekeeping, and the Front Desk always perform flawless. Aveda products, flat screen with a terrific menu of stations and movies, Chic decor with a sense of humor, and all an homage to Hollywood. The property, like a good movie, transports you to another place and time. The standard rooms can be a bit small, but the suites are not much more and well worth the extra coin!Other positives are the intimate stylish lounge that has superior drinks and a very attractive happy hour. The only take-away for the hotel is the location, which stuck in limbo between downtown and the Nob Hill. The Camas Hotel is far and away the best hotel/motel we have ever stayed at! The place is an historic building on the outside and a competely remodled B & B on the inside. The rooms are lovely with high end furnishings. The staff is frendly, and seem like family. Very important to me are the beds. I never sleep well on the lumpy beds found in the cookie cutter chain/clone motels. But here, the beds are so incredibly comfortable that I slept soundly from the first night on. And, also important, the place is quiet, even during the day. There is a nice breakfast of freshly brewerd coffee, juice, milk, cereal, bagels, english muffins and pasteries each morning in a kitchen that’s just a short walk down the hall. And, if the morning is nice, you can enjoy the morming on a lovely open air patio right off the breakfast room to read the provided morning paper. There are so many little things and amenities that contribute to the excellent stay at the Camas Hotel like: an ironing boa

I have been to this hotel several times as a day use guest. I enjoy stopping there when I am on a day trip to the gorge hiking or something. Currently it costs $15.00 to use the pool and the 2 spas (one in doors by the pool) and one out in the garden. It is unfortunate that the heavy public use requires chlorine to be added. It is still a lovely setting for the price and the water is from the natural hot springs. You need to bring a towel (or rent one) and a swim suit. Lockers used to be free but this year they charged $5.00 which I refuse to pay. Still the locker room area has a nice changing area, big showers, and provided shampoo, body gel soap, and hairdryers. There is also a Sauna in the Pool area. This place is very popular with local Russian families and it is interesting to hear them chatting in Russian (not that I understand it) while in the Sauna. Children are only allowed until 7:30 but adults can stay until 9 pm. It is much more relaxing when the children star

I recently had out-of-town visitors – as my loft is too small to accommodate them, I reserved two rooms at the Benson Hotel for them to stay in. These are dear friends of mine and I wanted them close to me and I wanted them to be pampered.Regretfully, I made the reservation based on the Benson’s reputation and their impressive lobby. I really should have done more research. My friends did not really complain, but, when I went to viist them, I was appauled by the size of the room – it was just large enough to fit the bed. We couldn’t really visit there and went down to the lobby which had plenty of room. Several times, we asked to have some service there and felt we were treated poorly because we were dressed somewhat casually. While I really enjoyed the visit from my friends, I definitely will consider another hotel in the future. Pros + Nice lobby and locationCons – Small rooms, stuffy service, poor value

The Paramount is a great hotel located in downtown. Next to Pioneer Place and Nordstrom, it is very convenient for the shoppers in town. The negative points is that our bathroom was clug during our stay but everything was allright after that. …
