The hotel was really beautiful and the service was excellent. We were disappointed that there was no outdoor pool (only an indoor one) but they do have a nice spa area, so we hung out there instead. Also, when we ordered a cab to go back to the airport, we were told we should use the hotel’s luxury car service. The employee did not mention that the car service was double the price, but luckily we had the insight to make her tell us a specific rate (since she claimed it was only a little more) They claimed that cab service is unrealiable and that it is better to use the luxury cars. However, we had no issues with the cab and overall the stay was very nice. …
Although I have not spent the evening at the Ritz yet, I did have a sneak peek a couple weeks ago before it opened. Here’s a small look at what you can expect, and I’m pretty sure you will not be left disappointed. From the modern fixtures and no detail left undone, it is the only property in Charlotte that can actually provide luxury. From the moment you walk in the lobby you feel welcome and like you are a wanted there. The dining room and bar area are combined almost in a free flowing, but defined space. This place could really bring the whole nightlife at hotels to fruition here in Charlotte, like bigger cities such as Atlanta and New York have done. The ball rooms and meeting areas are pretty wild. In one set of group dining rooms you have wall to wall, floor to ceiling glass overlooking College street. And for the larger corporate events the opulent, almost ostentatious main ballroom.
