Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Santa Barbara, California?

Any time I am passing through Santa Barbara, I make a point to have one meal at this place. The atmosphere is romantic. This restaurant is a converted house with all the charming qualities intact. It is tucked away from the highway, behind the trees on a hill. Even though the atmosphere appears to be quite posh, you can come in and dine in your most casual outfit. I’ve eaten here in jeans and a t-shirt before. The food is outstanding. I always order the fish, particularly the salmon. They have a few different preparations for it, but any one of them is good. It is so fresh and prepared with such love, the fish seems to melt in your mouth. Something I have been meaning to try is their Wednesday jazz brunches. I can only imagine how the music would complement your meal.Pros + succulent food, great wine selection

Little hole in the wall place has some great food. I was first of all surprised to see people dressed up when i walked in with my jeans t-shirt and a hat! but the waiters gave me no fuss about it. The dishes were expensive but worth the price for a nice romantic evening out. I had the fette with chicken and my girlfriend had the filet mignon. Which by the way she enjoyed and she is very picky about how it is cooked. Medium Well she says. If you’re looking for a nice romantic spot to drop a little cash, this is a great place for it. look to spend about $100 if you drink. We did sit next to some snobby middle aged caucasion ladies who felt we weren’t good enough to be there so they kept eying us. But we didnt’ let it bother us.Pros + Food, Location Near Beach, ServiceCons – Parking, Price, Bar Area is Small

At its best, the food is top-notch, but some of the dishes are prosaic for the price. The bouillabaise is excellent, as are the salads. The wine list, service, and atmosphere are outstanding. However, the chicken with mashed potatoes, which is $24, is nothing special. Moreover, the blueberry upside-down cake, which was recommended by the waiter, was mediocre. For these prices, they should deliver more consistently than they do. Still, if you’re lucky enough to order the right dish, it’s one of the best restaurants in Santa Barbara (much better than Ca’ Dario, for example).

My Fiance and I had the best time at Chad’s on Friday. We had 8 o’clock reservations, but arrived early to have drinks at the bar. They had live music outside and the place was packed. We had a couple great house martinis, and our table was ready for us 15 minutes early. Our server, Mike was friendly and knowledgable. He recommended a sample platter and we agreed. We had salads, and a platter with Filet Mignon, Chicken and Halibut. The Filet was mouth watering and the mashed potatoes were amazing. The server suggested a wonderful bottle of Napa Cabernet Savignon, and we finished out the evening with a Chocolate Souflee for dessert. I felt like a queen! The food was fantastic, an 11, the service was impecable, and the victorian house it’s located in is unique. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time, and I know that we did. Chad himself thanked us when we left, and we made another reservation for next week when we have friends in town. Pros + Food, Martinis, Wine List
