My husband booked our reservation at Bacchus for Valentines Day several weeks back, and apparently, they were almost fully booked, so I was looking forward to this meal since the restaurant appeared to have a following.Server was very unhappy and snippy. I don’t know if it was because she was working on Valentines day, or whether it was because she was single amongst lots of couples….. Who knows, either way, we found her abrupt the entire meal. She didn’t warm up one bit.Bread was ok, cold rolls. Caesar salad had good dressing, but they must have been rationing it last night, because our salads were almost dry. Dressing was nothing like Tobacco Co! My dinner was ok. I ordered a herb/garlic pasta dish, and my husband, the ahi tuna. He thought the tuna was fantastic, and LOVED it. My pasta was just like any pasta I’ve had anywhere though. I’m not exactly daring when it comes to experimenting with odd foods, which is why I had the pasta. I had other choices such as duck, quail, etc.

we came with high expectations which were mostly confirmed with notable exceptions. the food was exquisite. succulent, home-made gnoccis, finger-licking scallops on a bed of sweet potatoes, and thick and delicately cooked, delicious grouper on the tastiest mashed potatoes ive ever tasted…

D&M is a great place for a first date! Small tables, but cozy. Wonderful food and great team service. The long wood bar is a great hang out for their Martini Happy Hour. It’s rarely too crowded, so the service is usually pretty efficient. As a regular, I have always enjoyed my time there. Music ranges from jazz during dinner to classic rock, oldies, motown, and jam music late at night. Highly recommended! Remember…they won’t split your check for you, but you can pay separately! Just tell them what dollar amount you would like to pay in credit or in cash.

The finest Italian food anywhere. Dinner can run to $100 for two, depending. Ah, but here, it’s worth, and consider how much cheaper than a trip to Italy–or even New York City. The dishes are the most stably creative, the chef and kitchen are dependably good. Aside from back when Steve’s, out in Goochland, was making magnificent wonders such as a goose ravioli, with the eggplant ravioli pasta this gorgeous lavendar color, the flavor and texture of the entire creation just exquisite, I have never encountered any Italian food, regardless of region, that has made such magnificently spot-on creations as well as reaching perfection with the traditional dishes. By the way, it’s entirely possible to still get the best Northern Italian food anywhere–ANYwhere–for less than $100 for two. Service is superb. They’ve now got a different maitre d’ than the one I knew, who was THE best, and ran his ship precisely the way it should be run–gracious service that’s attentive but not hovering, which w
