Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Richmond, Virginia?

I have been an occasional Skilligalee customer for a number of years and have always enjoyed the experience. Over the past number months however, I have visited on a more regular basis (at least twice a month) because of the warm atmosphere, good food, and friendly professional staff. All of the folks at the Skilligalee especially in the lower level have made us feel at home from the very first visit and has genuinely welcomed us on each visit since. The seafood has always been fresh and well prepared and the times I have ordered a steak it has been very good. The spoon bread is among the best anywhere. At the end of an evening I have always felt that I had a good time with friends even if I had dined alone, thanks to the staff. Thanks, especially to Pam.Pros + Friendly people, good foodCons – none from my experience

I will admit the food we did get was awesome as far as quality and taste. The steak was huge, tender and cooked great. The baked potato was large enough to cover a large dinner plate and could serve probably 3 people. The shrimp coctail arrived with 5 very large shrimp. I do think this place is overpriced. Definatley a romantic spot to go, although last time we went it looked like the local grease monkeys were having meeting at the table behind us. The dress code for that place should probably be a little more enforced…I don’t like the idea of paying $150 for my wife and I to eat with slobs sitting behind us. The service is excellent and as other reviews have stated the place is down right beautiful. Parking does suck on busy nights…Pros + Good food, large portions, romanticCons – OVERPRICED, Parking, portions too large

I love fondue and have had many experiences with it, and this is by far one of the best. The selection is superb, they have something for almost every budget, you just have to be selective. The atmosphere is very cozy. It is a great place for a romantic dinner. I would say that it is really too expensive for a regular date. With wine, this place can easily cost more than $150. They have the menu broken down into a la carte, or you can purchase meals for two, four or other. The meal for two that includes entree and dessert is about $80 for the two people. This does not include wine. It is a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the Gayton Crossing area. It is back behind the main area where Kroger is located (it is where the OLD wachovia building is). Lots of parking. If you want to go for a romantic evening on a holiday, make sure you call and make reservations weeks (maybe even a month or two) in advance. They book up quickly during these times.

I recently ate at Patina for the first time based on a friend’s recommendation. Even though they were extremely busy (a Saturday night) the host made us feel special and offered the 6 of us “the big ass booth.” The waiter was knowledgeable and suggested 2 awesome wines to complement our dinners. I had the best and most unusually presented caesar salad I’ve ever had, followed by pecan dusted rabbit that was done perfectly over pasta. I also tasted a friends smoke shrimp and scallop dinner that was terrific as well. All of the desserts sounded great but the winner was a chocolate martini. The restaurant was beautiful with lots of copper and marble, but hard to describe. -casual elegant- Patina was much nicer than what I expected from a strip mall. Patina grillis definitely a great place for dinner or drinks on date night.Pros + outside dining, great food, well spaced tablesCons – far west end, reservations, strip mall
