Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Raleigh, North Carolina?

We’ve lived in Raleigh for four years and are now moving. We are SO sad to be leaving such a fantastic restaurant! It has been our favorite Italian restaurant. Make that our favorite restaurant of any kind here in Raleigh. We have yet to find better service, better quality of food, and better priced dishes. My father in law is Italian and says it’s as authentic as it gets! The staff always makes an effort to remember you when you return. They recognize special occasions with decorations and free desserts. Very pleasant and well kept. Decor is really neat…you definitely don’t feel you’re in Raleigh! But most important the food is outstanding. The timing of service is perfect. The quality and size of the dishes are impecable. We have eaten here for four years and have NEVER had a bad meal. I can’t imagine anyone saying a negative word about this restaurant. The owners put a lot of pride and care into this establishment and it shows.THIS IS A RALEIGH MUST! IT IS SIMPLY THE BEST!Pr

Excellent service! Sean was very attentive, and efficient. He answered all of our questions, and provided suggestions when needed. He was friendly without being overly familiar. When we decided to split the soup and salad, both the soup and the salad were brought it as two separate portions. Very few restaurants offer this type of service! Carolina coast she-crab soup was very good, majority of restaurants over salt it and put too much starch. Sandy Creek Farm bibb lettuce and beet salad was excellent! What an intersting way to incorporate beets, and the pistachio vinaigrette added just the right flare. New Bank Scallops with Green tomato marmalade, accompanied by Caper creme fraiche brocolli and Old Mill of Guilford cheddar grits were had excellent taste, and beautiful presentation. Thank you for a great Father’s Day!Pros + Excellent service, uncommon food, reasonable priceCons – music is a bit too loud for my taste

After 10+ visits to St Jacques, I felt I had to let others know about it. This restaurant is an oasis where one is transformed from North Raleigh to the South of France. Owners Lil & Lori are the most accommodating restauranteurs I have seen anywhere, truly believing that their customer is their guest and that the guest’s experience during the few hours in their restaurant is the most important thing there is. If anyone on this earth was born to be a Maitre d’, it is Lil. Ask him to describe the evening’s dinner selections and your mouth will be watering at each description! This is great but wouldn’t be enough if the food didn’t live up to the service. Luckily it does. Chef Aaron Whittington and his small kitchen staff have really mastered the intracacies of the finest French dining experience. Nothing is ever loaded with heavy sauces ( though many of the dishes are quite rich ) and many of the items have a simple elegance that needs to be tasted to be understood. At last night’s Alsa

Margaux’s is a wonderful restaurant which NEVER ceases to amaze me in a very delightful way! I’ve lived in the south a long time and have eaten shrimp and grits many times for breakfast but I have got to tell you, the staff at Margaux’s have really outdone themselves! I had lunch today and tried their Saut? Sweet Shrimp over Anson Mills corn grits & Applewood smoked bacon gravy. Wow! What a delightful flavor! It was quite a mixture of ingredients which melded into a really wonderful taste delight. Once I tasted it, I didn’t stop until my plate was completely clean; it was so good, I ignored the people I was dining with. I’ve seen shrimp and grits on the menu several times prior, I just didn’t try them. Today, Steve suggested I might enjoy them and he was totally correct. My father-in-law, Harold, recently visited us so we took him to Margaux’s for dinner. Harold loves cooked oysters and as luck would have it, there were oysters on the menu. Harold liked the oysters so much,
