I found this restaurant through opentable dot com and I am glad I went. I had the scallop chowder which was flavorful. The broth was more thin like soup than thick like chowder but the flavor was there. I had the surf and turf for dinner which had an amazing mushroom demi glace. The shrimp were dry but not terrible. My filet mignon was cooked just the way I wanted it. I would eat here again if in the area but I would order something else, only to try a new item. I would order dessert next time as well. This restaurant offers an incredible view of the wharf.Pros + Right on the wharf, prompt polite serviceCons – Noisy

A friend and I went here for Sunday brunch. She has two small children, and although for dinner, the White Horse is probably not “kid friendly” it certainly is for a casual meal such as brunch. When we arrived we politely asked if it would be ok for us to bring the children for brunch and if so, could we have two high chairs for them. The host rolled his eyes, and after arguing with the child’s mother about whether or not her child was old enough to sit in a high chair, found a secluded room for us to eat brunch in. After making us feel like lepers by ushering us off to the secluded room, he looked at me and said “you need to make sure that the little girl doesn’t roam around the restaurant…we’ve had accidents in the past from it happening”.Pros + Ambience, FoodCons – Service

We had brunch here recently on a quiet February weekend. Food was very good – prime rib with horseradish cream sauce was especially tasty. Other standouts: crispy bacon, wonderful fresh pineapple, chicken tangine, good breads, well-made omelets, a superior chocolate mousse. A few things didn’t quite appeal as much: dry pork tenderloin (sauce helped though), maple-flavored sausage (just a particular peeve of mine – don’t like flavored sausage), apple crisp was rather bland, and the danish and bagels were the standard food service type, nothing tempting. Service was friendly and efficient and the views are just lovely – I imagine they’re fantastic at night as well with the bridge in the background. Actually, would give the brunch 4.5 stars, just not the full 5 stars. At $29.95 each, I kind of expect everything to shine – lol. But overall, highly recommended.Pros + Easy, free parking, gorgeous views, friendly and efficient staff, mostly good foodCons – Some brunch options need to b

Zebra’s is a great place to go for either a romantic night out or to celebrate with friends or family. There is a nice lounge area with comfy chairs and attentive cocktail waitresses at you walk in, and I often show up an hour or so before I plan to eat to just ahng out and have a drink with my friends. The dining area is small, but very comfy and the art on the walls creates a fun, eclectic but classy ambiance. The service has always been outstanding, and I believe many of the staff have worked there for quite a while (in fact, I have had the same server ot my table each of the last 2-3 times my family has eaten there during the Christmas season). The food is prepared superbly (medium actually has some pink still showing, medium-rare is not charred, etc) and I have always enjoyed the variety of ingredients found in their various dishes. Additionally, there is a sushi bar available, but I have not tried it to-date. Overall, this is a great restaurant, in the mold of those in Bo

On Jan 8th, 2010 my wife and I finally had time to take a night out alone. We both work opposite hours and when we do go out it is a special occasion. When we went in to Fred and Steve’s we were properly greeted by a gentleman at the host stand. He politly asked if we had reservations, we told him no, he replied about 10-15 minutes for a wait. Not a problem. We were looking at the menu outside of the retaurant for a few and decided to go in and sit in the lounge. When we did so a woman was now at the hostess stand and approached us with the following phrase,”Can I help you?”, what I thought should have happened is,” Hi, welcome to Fred and Steves, your table will be ready shortly.” We waited a little longer than stated, no biggie. However the bus boy was the o ne to tell us out table was ready, and when we walked over to our table, the hostess stopped us again and told us to wait. She seemed very unpleasant to my wife and I. After sitting, the food runner did everything perfec
